    well I mean Hip Hop is the biggest genre in the US rn so ig the search algoritim would put in rap artists in the pop category, also with how Kendrick regularly does features for pop artists like Taylor Swift and Maroon 5

    is there cultural movements relating to it? yes.


    do vid like this occur in rap? no.
    do vids like this occur in popular culture approved songs? yes.

    at this point i really dunno wtf wrong with Kendrick stans. like he is a pop artist now. if you're denying that you are probably insecure that you like a pop artist and not a rapper or some s---, when it doesn't even matter. It's the same as say Drake/Eminem regardless of what they have done in their careers they are both pop artists now.

    So you're saying an entire crowd singing a artist's song bar for bar only happens in pop... because it ONLY happens in pop, and there are NO rap song, at all, that have had to effect.

    Sure i guess humble is pop, but kendrick lamar in an awards show will go in the pop caterogy to you?

    I'm not f---ing saying "an entire crowd singing a song bar for bar means its pop culture" I am saying kendrick lamar is a pop artist full stop. then I raised a few points to back up that claim - not to objectively claim anyone rapping bars word for word means pop culture, for f---s sake.

    I mean the fact that Kendrick's entire demeanor has changed since GKMC from "compton's f-----, i need to get my story out"
    to
    "the whole worlds f-----, i gotta make music i want, for the people"
    nearly every issue he touches on now is relevant to pop culture. The whole black culture themes... you think that's coincidence he's rapping about that and Trump is president? no he's pretty much giving social commentary on pop culture atm, because he's a pop artist.

    As for the whole awards thing, just, plz don't be stupid. Drake has been nominated for best "hip hop album" before.
    you really think he's "hip hop" as opposed to r&b/pop when he's sing-songing about love and s---?

    Kendrick has also been nominated before for "BEST POP DUO/GROUP PERFORMANCE" for his performance in bad blood. Now was he singing in bad blood? no he was rapping, so go direct your outrage at the grammy's for nominating him for a pop song when he raps on it. cause that's your argument.

    Kendrick Lamar at an award show will be predominately nominated for Rap/hip-hop awards, though is still a pop artist.
