Aug 26, 2024 I honestly just enjoy a good slasher movie, doesn’t happen too much these days. Scream and Chucky are still pushing along at least (well, Scream is doing its best when it comes to Scream 7 anyways)
Aug 26, 2024 Right, so you enjoyed watching a realistic depiction of a woman getting sawed in half from the p---- down. in b4 "it's art" LOL.
Aug 26, 2024 That isn’t even my favorite k--- or moment of the movie tbh. The movies are brutal (and that’s definitely what made them popular and what made them catch everyone’s eye, including mine), but they are the first movies in years to genuinely give me the creeps, that’s the main reason I go into them. The gore loses its shock factor on rewatches because you know what’s happening. I do appreciate the special effects work put into the movies when it comes to the k--- scenes though, just like how they used to do them when Jason, Freddy, and all those guys were blowing up
Aug 26, 2024 Oh, it's good to know it's not one of your favorite moments. You're clearly a man of taste, so maybe you prefer the one where Joe Davola's eviler brother prances around wearing the scalp and skinned t-ts of another victim. Or the one where the girl who survives finds her sister's mutilated corpse set up on a chair adorned with Christmas lights, pleading for her to wake up. I heard the second movie is even more shockingly brutal. You probably didn't like that one very much then.
Aug 26, 2024 The gore doesn’t make me dislike the movies, I just said it loses its shock value. Does MMLP have the same shock value with the lyrics on the 30th relisten compared to the 1st time you listened to it? I like the second one quite a lot because it has an actual story to it and reminds me of the 80’s slashers that I wasn’t around to see when they originally came out. I just want a great slasher movie, I watch these movies the same way I’d watch Elm Street or Scream or Friday the 13th. I don’t go in there on the basis of “yes i hope Art kills a woman in the most gory way possible”. Sure you hope for some good kills in a SLASHER movie, but I don’t get a hard on from seeing specifically a woman get killed on screen. i just like slashers man, I’d be this hyped over a new Chucky movie and especially a new F13 movie. I’m not trying to cause an argument or anything, I’m just trying to explain why I like the Terrifier movies besides “GORE GORE GORE!!”
Aug 26, 2024 The new stills from last night are being deleted due to the fact they were not meant to be officially released
Aug 26, 2024 @BiG MONKEY the scene you described with the woman being cut in half was the moment I stopped watching part 1 and never made me watch the sequel. I also hate movies like Saw and Hostel because I don't like torture movies. Some gore is fine but not for the sake of it. But aside from that Terrifier (until that moment) was a pretty fun horror movie to me so I can get people enjoying the movie if they can handle or enjoy scenes like that
Aug 26, 2024 Same. The movie stopped being interesting and the villain lost any unique appeal he had the moment he turned on full tryhard slasher mode, and he never turned it back off outside maybe one brief scene and it was lame anyway. At that point he became just another predictable, over-the-top sick-and-sadistic-for-the-sake-of-being-sick-and-sadistic killing machine. I've become way too desensitized to horror to be truly shocked or surprised by anything here, but I found it to be in very poor taste to say the least. For me that scene in particular was a new low from the sewers of Hollywood. People who enjoy watching that s--- but claim to be against real torture (say, snuff films) aren't being honest with themselves. It's just that the former is a socially acceptable way (!) to indulge in their darkest fantasies.
