I mean, dude, are you kidding? This goes beyond ideology: you can't figure out how sweeping laws that affect the mass imprisonment of a society might affect that society's interaction with law enforcement? And you're a teacher?

Furthermore, are you going to ignore what I said and continue spewing bs about black crime rates when in reality every single piece of data runs contrary to your point? I mean, that puts you in line with most American conservatives, but still.

Learned about it in a few sociology classes. Obviously I have surface level knowledge on the situation in the states, but based on numbers it's actually pretty similar. The image of natives that's ingrained in most Canadians is similar to that of black folk in the states. We always look at natives in Canada and say "how is it possible for these people to never achieve anything with all the benefits and help they get front the govt?" But we never really look at how they've been set up to fail since day 1 because of the effect history has had on their people.

Two things:

1. Which "bad apples in the BLM crowd"? No one claiming ties to Black Lives Matter has executed white people on camera.
2. Black Lives Matter is not a government institution that is publicly funded and given legal authority to use deadly force. We have a right, as tax-paying citizens, to demand more of police officers than of ordinary individuals.

Wrong how? Morally unsound, or inaccurate? Because you'd have a hard time convincing me of either. The city you and I both live in has one of the most grotesquely unfit police departments in the history of the modern world.

But it does make sense. A rogue gunman with no formal ties to any organization doesn't represent people beyond him; police officers very plainly represent the police department. (It's also not a "handful"; there are going to be over a thousand people killed by police again this year.)

A suspect who died after a standoff with Dallas police said he wanted to k--- white people -- especially white officers -- and that he was upset about "the recent police shootings," and that he acted alone, Dallas Police Chief David Brown told reporters Friday.
The suspect eventually was killed by a bomb that authorities detonated, Brown said.
"We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was," Brown said. "Other options would have exposed our officers to grave danger. The suspect is deceased as a result of detonating the bomb."
