Nov 5, 2017 you guys always fail to see the long term here ffs. Yes gun control doesn't make illegally owned firearms magically registered. But what do you think happens to gun owners if guns become illegal in some form? lets say there's an outright ban on assault rifles. Anyone who now has an assault rifle is now going "f--- if this gets SEEN, i can face criminal charges" so they are more inclined to keep the gun inside/to themself. They are less inclined to go flashing the gun around. they are much less inclined to carry the gun in public without trying to conceal it and looking supicious. Also, you fa---- c---- who lived with rich mom and dad their whole life don't realize that if you can't buy your guns legally, you're not gonna be able to go to the ghetto drug-dealer and get a gun for a couple hundred. d--- dealers/criminals whatever you want to call it, they want $$ first and foremost. you think they'll still sell you a handgun for $100 after gun control? .... so it's like 1000000x harder for any person to obtain guns and dealers will go "haha i wont up my price, i am a gentlemen with morals!" f---ing idiots, the """"black market"""" will drive the price of guns up tenfold.
Nov 5, 2017 Oh my bad, I thought you said he purchased it legally. Regardless, firearm registries are needed. Along with universal background checks & increased funding for ATF. Right now guns are flooding into the streets because we just assume citizens will be responsible with their firearms. That’s clearly not working out.

Do you realize that I can link you over 80 documentaries about people in piss poor Asia countries or people in Mexico who are selling guns illegally? They take no time at all to make, why do you people not understand this? If you make it harder for legit gun owners to acquire guns, they're just going to get them illegally also. Sorry your opinion of me has changed because you're completely ignorant on the subject. Also note that in Chicago you can not nor will you probably ever be able to LEGALLY purchase a gun, yet it has the second highest murder rate in the United States, must be all those legal guns people are purchasing and attaching their names too.
Nov 5, 2017 partially agree, there's a fair few factors and i'd say the biggest is attitude. But speaking as a first world person, who lives in a first world country, where gun control after a mass shooting 40 yrs ago has caused 0 shootings since... Gun control works. third world developing humans, acting like third world developing humans, no surprise. America (as much as I like to say otherwise) is a first world country. There isn't a huge problem like over-population like in Asian countries, for example. I stated previously that this isn't true. Guns when legal are affordable. If they're made illegal their price will rise. A lot. not like double, i'm talking literally 10x. the "black market" isn't some reputable business. They know people buy the guns illegally as a "NEED" (if they're made illegal). If the sellers know there is a "NEED" not a "want" for it, they can charge whatever f---ing ridiculous prices. the other thing guns = legal and legal to carry = you see someone with a gun and assume "ok he is a legal gun owner" guns = illegal to carry in public = you see someone with a gun you know something illegal/out of the ordinary is going on and can respond accordingly.

Nov 6, 2017 The United States isn’t a “piss poor Asian country.” You can’t compare developed nations to under developed nations. There are too many variables that affect gun violence in under developed nations that don’t affect gun violence in the U.S. Also, Europe/Canada/Australia have all pushed gun control measures with much success in lowering gun crime rates. As for your example of Chicago, it’s stupid. Over 50% of the guns on the streets of Chicago trace back to out of state locations. Chicago isn’t an island. Their strict gun laws do no good when neighboring states have loose gun laws.
