Don't think they will give it to Steph or KD unless they put up wild a--- numbers. Same goes for Russ, don't think he's gonna win enough games to really be in contention for it. Kobe played the lone wolf role and lost 3 to Dirk & Steve Nash. Most Improved Player DeAngelo Russell This is always the toughest to predict. I just think he's super talented and will thrive as the primary ball handler this year. 6th Man of the Year Andre Iguadala They're gonna win 80 games and Iggy has been one of the best 6th men in the league for the past few years. Can't give it to J-Crossover ever year. Rookie of the Year You know, I went with Buddy Hield originally, but I'm gonna go with Embiid. No Simmons means the team will run through Joel and it seems like he might be ready for it. Oct 5, 2016 Every other sport at the start of the year you can legit be like 'so many possibilities, I have no idea who's gonna win it all.' In basketball you know with 95% certainty it's gonna be 1 of 2 teams(or 3 max). I feel you're underrating the Jazz and Twolves and I feel the 4th place spot most people got the Blazers in is too high. Last year basically everything went right for them so that's why they finished way higher than expected, I expect a small drop off this season. Although they have great coaching so who knows.

Oct 6, 2016 I could easily make the typical, boring picks that everyone will pick for these lists, so instead of doing that I like to change it up a bit. Most Valuable Player Paul George. I think the Pacers have a shot at making some noise in the East this year, and a team that could possibly have the East's best record at the end of the year. Paul George might have an MVP caliber year if they finish at the top. Most Improved Player I could easily pick a guy like Russell, Winslow, or Turner to get it because they are sophomores. I don't like the idea of giving it to a player who is expected to improve quite a bit after their rookie season. I'm giving myself a break here and picking two guys. My home state homie Harrison Barnes, who can't really get much worse after these past finals, or Steven Adam's, who will likely get the minutes boost he needs to show off his stuff. 6th Man of the Year Eric Gordon. James Harden at the point wont really make a huge difference for this team because he was already the primary ball handler. Beverly will start at the 2 and be another 3 and D guy, so there will be a perfect opportunity for Gordon to come off the bench and light it up. He's not the defender Beverly is, which makes bringing him off the bench smart, but he's a guy that when healthy has proven he is a great scorer. I believe he'll put up 13+ points per game off the bench in limited minutes. Rookie of the Year I'm pissed Simmons is hurt and won't get it, but I'm not 100% sure I was going to pick him anyways. The first name that comes to my mind is Kris Dunn. He's got the talent around him and a veteran in Rubio ready to help him through his rookie season on a Wolves team that could make some noise in the West. Coach of the Year Hmmm... Oct 6, 2016 Most Valuable Player Lebron, it almost definitely won't be someone on the warriors just cuz they have too much talent. Only way it's someone on Golden State is if 2 of the top players go down for a long time(say Klay and Curry) and then someone like Durant carries the load for a while and they still do great..I expect Bron to coast throughout the year and even miss some games, but I can't think of any more likely option still. I guess Kawhi Leonard would be my 2nd pick here, Westbrook won't win enough on the Thunder to have a legit shot. Most Improved Player D'angelo Russell Or Karl Anthony Towns. Yes I know Towns was already very good last year, but I could see him turning into even more of a beast this season and really hitting his peak, he could become a top defender in the league too especially with Thibs there now. 6th Man of the Year No f---in clue but I guess I'll go with Andre Iggy. Rookie of the Year Ingram or Dunn, I'll go with Ingram. Coach of the Year Gregg Popovich, Spurs will be a top 2 seed without Timmy D and Pop will get a lot of credit for that. Was gonna make a new thread but figured it'd be better in here so we can compare with our own NBA GMs think Stephen Curry and LeBron James will square off in another Finals. If it’s hard for you to imagine the Cleveland Cavaliers or Golden State Warriors not returning to The Finals for a third straight year, you’re not alone. In fact, almost every general manager in the league thinks that the Cavs and Warriors will play for the championship again. And after correctly predicting that the Cavs would win their first championship last season, most of the GMs believe that the Warriors will win the rubber match. The addition of Kevin Durant was surely a big factor in that prediction.
