Wade and Bosh were still on the Heat the year after Lebron left, weren't they? They didn't even make the playoffs that year from what I recall.

Fair enough. He was a all star caliber player though. He had great defense as well.

Hoping for an entertaining series...hopefully game 7...haven't watched much NBA play-offs...waiting until this moment...

I'm pulling for the Cavs, only cause the Kevin Durant to GS move annoyed me...considering Oklahoma City was up on GS last year and would be interesting to see them battle again this year...sucker move but oh well - go get your championship ring for yourself the easiest way possible....

Kyrie is a notch right below Curry in my book. You got shooters in JR, Korver, Frye, solid 3 & D guy in Shump, very good rebounder/defender in Tristan, plus a solid backup PG with D Will. That team does NOT go .500.
It's not really apples to apples though. That Bulls team had a prime Pippen who was an MVP candidate plus an emerging Kukoc to go along with the same coach/core who had just 3 peated.

Wade was 33 when Bron left and clearly past his prime. He missed 20 games that season and Bosh miss almost 40.

Lol this LeBron Jordan debate is insanity on here.

One thing is for sure. He's better than Kobe. No idea how you guys tried arguing Kobe > LeBron. At this point, it's Jordan #1, then a decent drop off to LeBron at #2.
If he wins it all this year, then we can have the conversation for LeBron being the GOAT, but he's still under MJ IMO.

Wade and Bosh played some of their worst basketball ever in the 2014 finals. They averaged just over 30ppg combined. LeBron still averaged close to something like 29/7/4 if my memory is right.

LeBron also went up against the greatest PF of all time 3 times, once in the middle of his (Duncan's) prime and he was still dominant the last two finals, especially considering the Heat's best interior defenders were Bosh and Birdman. (even LeBron himself)

The one that's not really up for debate is the Mavs series, but people fail to give Dirk and Dallas the credit they deserve. LeBron didn't play well at all, but it was also the first year of the big 3, many people didn't even think they'd make it there. Plus Dirk played out of his mind (we had Joel Anthony guarding him) and also started Carlos Arroyo at PG in the NBA finals a few times.

Jordan is not some untouchable god. LeBron may not get there, but he will almost definitely go down as a top 2 player ever. Nothing wrong with being second to Jordan if that's what ends up happening.

Talk about revisionist history lmaoooo. Of course everybody thought they'd go to the Finals, they had 3 all NBA players in their prime.
Man was salty that he didn't win MVP and proceeded to average 17/77 in the Finals with JJ Barea and Jason Terry guarding him :laff:then SHRUNK in 4 straight 4th quarters and ended game 4 with 8 points.
Idk about you but a majority of the stats are in MJs favor to go with 6 championships in 13 years vs 3 championships in 14 years :jordan:

Blatt is coaching up Ante Zizic in Turkey, not sure if that's a good thing. But he seems high on him.

Go back and look at what everyone said. The common narrative at that time was that "they won't win it all this year because it'll take time to gain some chemistry, but in years 2-4, then we'll start to see the dynasty."

I remember that 100% correctly because I was so pissed at the time that people were picking Boston or SAS to win it all, but I thought Miami had a clear path to a finals win. Turns out they were pretty spot on with the prediction. Doesn't change the fact that LeBron had a pretty bad series. Although it's not as much his fault as people realize or claim. Also, Jason Terry didn't lockdown LeBron at all that series. JJ Barea did guard him a couple of games, mainly when he was in foul trouble and was pretty hesitant to drive and commit a charge. Shawn Marion and DeShaun Stevenson did most of the on ball defense, and did great jobs, but what made the difference was Tyson Chandler's rim protection. Nobody could do anything with him down there and Wade and LeBron weren't exactly the best shooters ever.

People like yourself that think JJ Barea and Jason Terry locked him down are only remembering a few possessions rather than the entire series. Their impacts were on offense, not so much defense.

Warriors in 7. I did want the cavs to beat the celtics then warriors until lebron and and some of his people were making excuses for him being sick. Forgot how much of a cry baby the guy can be. Missing the open dunk cause he was sick...

How do you think the GOAT would do if Barea guarded him for a game?

I'm sure there were some who thought Miami wouldn't win the chip, but I think it's reckless to say that was the majority opinion. If anything that was mostly fueled by the hate, any basketball fan could see that all that talent would get there.

I think you're both kinda right, at the start of the year some were saying the Heat wouldn't win right away cuz it'd take time etc. I don't know if I'd say it was the general consensus though, cuz who was gonna stop em at the time from the east? Indiana? lmao..

But Pooh's right in the sense that once the finals started, the Heat were the heavy favorites..Not many expected Dallas to win. Also yes a prime Bron did get shut down by Jason Terry at times which is still amazing to me..

Idk what the GOAT would've done. Who knows? That's a ridiculous, hypothetical question considering more times than not, LeBron made the right play that series. Cuban even said that. It was the guys outside of him that didn't show. As good as Wade played, he was a huge part of the problem with his ball stopping and dribbling out the clock. There was like no shooting around him either. Look at difference guys like Mike Miller and Shane Battier would go on to make. Chalmers barely shot 40% from 3 that series and was the best shooter on the team. No one else came close to 40%. No wonder those zone defensive schemes gave us such big troubles. Look what happened the year after when the Thunder tried double teaming LeBron or tried playing zone, he made the right play and we hit the shots.

Yeah they were definitely favored over Dallas before the finals started, but most of the season people thought Miami was still a year away. It was "can we even get past Chicago or Boston?"

LeBron didn't get shut down by Jason Terry. That is a false narrative. JET played an incredible series on the offensive end though. I'd say LeBron got his revenge a couple years after though with that dunk. It was the zone that f----- LeBron up.

Celtics 08-09 champs if KG doesn't get hurt. Lost to the Magic in 7 (who went on to beat the Cavs) and then swept that same team the next year. That team was probably their best and KG wasn't really ever the same after that injury.

Sad that YT has such trash footage of this, maybe my favorite Rondo play ever.

Also, Jordan would've never faced a defense like that Mavs team played because a zone/man hybrid defense like that wasn't legal until the rule changes in the early 2000s.

Was so pissed when Orlando of all teams made it that year. I either wanted a LeBron vs. Kobe matchup or I wanted the Celtics to at least make it a series in the finals.
