KG was technically traded to the Cs. But since he has a NO TRADE CLAUSE he had 100% control over where he landed.
It's true that KG was "technically" traded to the Cs. It's also true that he was "technically" traded to the Nets. However it is you that seem to have forgotten some details.

At first KG made it clear he was not interested in a trade to the Cs. If the Cs would have traded for him he was going to opt out of his contract and leave the Cs that year in free agency. Not wanting to part way with assets for a one year rental held up the trade for a while. So KG had leverage in this situation. But then the Cs got Ray Allen. And all of a sudden KG was willing to sign an extension with the Cs.

Now to the Brooklyn move. KG had a no trade clause which means he controlled where he was going to play for the remainder of his contract. But a player by the name of Paul Pierce convinced him to waive it to join him in BK to form what he thought would be a superteam:

"That's when I made the call [to Garnett]," Pierce said.

And that conversation, maybe more than anything else, is at the heart of Garnett's willingness to waive his no-trade clause and allow himself along with Pierce and Jason Terry, to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Pierce spent his entire career with the Celtics, so he was all too familiar with the struggles that come when a franchise is all about rebuilding, which is where the Celtics are right now.

To go through that again, at this point in his career, would have been a tough pill to swallow for the 35-year-old.

"Like I said over the last couple of years, it would be tough to go back to an environment that wasn't trying to win a championship," Pierce said. "When you get that taste of success ... you don't want to go backwards. That's how I felt. I think Doc [Rivers] felt the same way. Kevin [Garnett] felt the same way. That's why we all put ourselves in these situations where we could try and win."

I actually have no problem with players playing a role in their future and teaming up to form great teams but these old heads need to stop acting as if they're above this. KG made a basketball decision that would allow him to compete for titles just like KD did. We've also seem past greats do it too. And I don't want to hear the "they waited until they were out of their prime argument" because:
    1. They made the decision hoping to form a team of all stars that could win a title
    2. You don't get "credit" or let of the hook for doing the same thing you are criticizing others for doing just because you were "old". In fact you should be criticized for not being able to swallow your pride in pursuit for a ring.

That's what I'm thinking. I'll be surprised if we don't get the same finals again next year.

You probably should have saved yourself the hour it took you to write/copy and paste stuff. None of those things is remotely close to Durant blowing a 3-1 lead and then joining the team that beat him...

Almost every non Warrior basketball fan, had a problem with a move except this fucken guy, Who nobody knows who he roots for, outside of just a Cavs/Warriors final.

    Go away.

I think the Cavs lost something like $40 Million last year, I dunno how long these owners will want to keep paying ridiculous tax money. Curry and Durant will both make significantly more next year and Golden State might end up moving Klay. Both teams will probably still be here for a while, but the teams will start to look different and be at least a little more beatable in Golden State's case anyways.

I know Lebron and Dan Gilbert are having issues, if they end up losing here that could get worse.

Warriors in 6 or 7, ppl keep saying Warriors in 5. I don't think the league lets that happen, these playoffs have been too awful to not push this thing to at least 6.

They should've just started the finals a few days after both Cleveland and GS won their respective conference series.

The only difference is Durant went to a team that beat him.

If Pierce had a problem with KD teaming up with GS to form a super team.

KG was only willing to approve a trade to the Cs to form a super team.

Then Pierce convinced him to leave Boston so they could try and form another super team.

But yeah, because KD went to a team that beat him that negates the fact that Pierce played with players who formed super teams and he himself tried to stack the deck as well.
