depends on how long they stretch out the deals and free agency wouldn't be as big a deal

Imagine they stayed in Seattle and kept Harden, we'd be talking about a Sonic's dynasty right now

i'm not disputing that Lebron wasn't able to mold the Cavs to his liking when he came back but to equivocate that to joining a 73 win team is not the same. He had to do exactly that, mold the team to his liking and hope that they would be able to play well together. There have been stretches where this Cavs team looked pretty bad -- especially this season. KD went to a team that was already assembled and had already won a championship and went to back to back finals. KD going to the Warriors wasn't a move that was anticipated. It's not like Lebron foresaw this happening -- no one did. If he did, I'm sure he would have told CLE's management to do some things differently.

I'm not trying to say it's the same, it's just the next step/evolution of it.

Am I the only one who won't care at all if the Warriors win in terms of KD? Like his ring will be meaningless to me. Same goes for Lebron who i'm a fan of, but his rings with Miami mean far less to me than his ring from last year. KD a b---- and a :emoji_snake:

Exactly.... and KD's a b---- for doing that, the same way Lebron was a b---- for going to Miami lol.

His rings with Miami will always be some what disputed. Especially when it comes in comparison with guys like Kobe and Jordan. Though I give him credit for the Heat-Spurs final that the Heat won. They were underdogs going into that final and came back to win it.

The difference between us then is that I don't think it's as big a deal as you and some others do. What was he supposed to do, sit around in Cleveland while they continue to bring in the likes of Mo Williams, Larry Hughes, and Antwan Jamison to be his 2nd best teammate?

Kobe demanded a trade to get the Lakers moving on contending again. MJ was so frustrated after losing to Detroit he wanted to trade Pippen for Kemp.

At the end of the day a great player is only as good as the ones around him. Some aren't fortunate enough to be traded away from Charlotte and get paired up with the most dominant big ever in their rookie season, or have a SF from Arkansas turn into a top 30 player and arguably the best defender of all time. I can't get mad at somebody for trying and successfully putting their career and future in their own hands.

@Ben a couple of weeks ago I was bored and popped in 2K for the first time in about a month and decided to use my 10,000 VC on starting a MyGM with 2 expansion teams. I controlled the Seattle Super Sonics, drafted Ben Simmons #1 overall, (I traded my #2 pick and someone else) and tanked the first year to draft Lonzo Ball #1 the following year. That same year, I traded for Rudy Gobert. I also got James Young from Boston for dirt cheap and (cc: @redsoxx) he actually turned into an 83 overall in his second year because I used untapped potential. (biggest cheese thing in training camp lol) The biggest hole was at PF, where I started Jon Leuer. Who wasn't awful, but he's more of a first big off the bench kinda guy.

By the third year of the Super Sonics, the starters were Lonzo Ball, (85) James Young, (83) Ben Simmons, (83) Jon Leuer, (77) and Rudy Gobert (84)

We barely made the playoffs and got bounced in the first or second round, but that offseason I traded Victor Oladipo away to create cap space and signed Kevin Love who ended up being like my only guy over 30. Won a couple ships and then got bored so I haven't touched it lol. Ball and Simmons are both 90+ overalls and every other starter is mid-high 80s.

That ended up being pretty long... I'm sorry, I'm ripped rn. Long day at work lmao.

Yea he's garbage lol just thought it was funny how that worked out. I read online that if you give him untapped potential in 2k, that happens. They weren't wrong haha. Always thought he was gonna be good when they drafted him and wondered why he never touched the court. I understand now.

Almost came back from 3-0 to beat Jordan in the Finals! If it wasn't for Rodman playing absolutely possessed in game 6, there would've been a game 7 and anything coulda happened.

Interesting. Vegas odds favor the Warriors over the 72-10 Bulls.

If they played under today's rules, I would put my money on GS too.

Well the 73-9 Warriors added Durant, would only be fair if the 72-10 Bulls got to add Olajuwan, Malone or David Robinson.

See how ridiculous that sounds? lol

The NBA is so incredibly uncompetitive right now. The collective bargaining agreement was supposed to fix some of this super team BS and help the smaller markets, but it's done no such good.

I've been saying it's because the league keeps raising the salary cap thus dampening the rules put in the new CBA. Superstars have less of an incentive to sign long-term deals because the salary cap just keeps rising and they know any team will be willing to pay max for a superstar.

    Lol wut.

The '96 Bulls had 3 or 4 lockdown defenders. Their defense was better than the Warriors' today. And obviously MJ is MJ he's too great he's not gonna lose to some light skinned p-----s like Curry and Klay...
