    Great save, this is why I don't make fun of people missing penalties, aren't as easy as y'all think. Iran need to stop bitching tho, they were flopping like crazy against Spain

    I remember reading that statistically, a soccer player missing a penalty is the equivalent to a basketball player missing a free throw. It’s def not as automatic as people make it seem.

    It's definitely similar, you can practice both of them for hours but the probabilities are still hit or miss. I played for years and I remember when my high school team blew it in a penalty shootout despite us preparing for it. It is weird seeing a prolific pk expert like Ronaldo blow it but the gk got it right

    It's also worth mentioning, left footed players oddly are renown in history for not being very good at them, for some reason goalkeepers anticipate them better.
