I didn't have a problem with the "full of s---" comment so much as telling a room full of Union workers "I don't work for you." That's going to be on repeat the rest of the year.

Also you're no dummy so I've got to ask do you genuinely believe that nothing is going on with Biden cognitively? You can't really think this is a man operating at full capacity can you?

The whole argument for Biden as the nominee is that he resonates well with voters in swing states. If he doesn’t offer that himself as the nominee & we need a VP from a swing state, what the h--- does biden even offer as a candidate?

Warren is a progressive who attracted a mix of 2016 Clinton & Sanders supporters. Warren supporters 2nd choice between Biden/Sanders was d--- near a 50/50 split. She appeals to enough of the progressive wing of the party & with Sanders campaigning by her side, more would come around. She’s a woman who was popular with highly educated African-Americans. She’s tremendously well spoken, organized & articulate. A ticket with a moderate leading & progressive VP I think would do wonders in terms of unifying the party.

As entertaining as this might be, it’s this kind of mud slinging that I want to stay away from this election cycle. It won’t matter if don jr loses, he’ll spew so much false information & that’ll be mission accomplished. It’s what happened to Hillary. People honestly believed Trump & Hillary were “equally as bad.” That’s largely due to a lot of propaganda/false information that the GOP’s propaganda machine pushed.

a literal game show host that has the personality of a South Park character is President right now.

    ——————————————————————

I’ll fully support Biden if he’s the nominee. I think the most important thing is for the country to get a competent president back in the White House that actually has the nation’s interests in mind. The amount of damage that Trump has done to the White House, our institutions & our democracy is unbelievable. We need a president that will bring back standards & transparency. Rebuild trust in institutions that Trump has damaged. I’m talking the most basic tasks such as routine press pools & press conferences that are nonexistent in this administration.

However, with that being said, I do foresee myself getting rather frustrated with a Biden administration. His throw back style of politics of wanting to “reach across the aisle” & have both sides work together & debate like the old days might sound appealing to most Americans who don’t stay in tuned with politics 24/7 (like @Boos said himself) but for me it’s just bs. The GOP is corrupt at its core. Their leadership has allowed a demagogue to not only hijack their party but rip apart all types of ethical & legal standards we come to expect from the executive branch. We can’t just go back & pretend to be buddy buddy with these guys & act like they didn’t sell out their country for political power. Democrats need to make power moves when they take back the White House & Senate. That means throwing out the filibuster; adding more Supreme Court justices; passing a new voters rights act; passing tougher campaign laws; etc. It’s clear at this point that the 3 branches of government aren’t enough to protect the U.S. from a wannabe authoritarian. There needs to be more safe guards in place to make it much more difficult for a Donald J. Trump esque candidate to win the presidency.

This is sad that Democrats actually think this guy has a chance at presidency.

That turnout is so disappointing. Not even just cuz of Bernie, but cuz a more powerful youth vote could really make a difference in general. I'd be curious what the numbers are for, say, 24-29 vs. 18-23 are. I'd like to think at the very least people post-college age would vote more, it's a weak number no matter how you slice it.

    Post Super Tuesday FiveThirtyEight probabilities:

    Biden - 88%
No one (contested convention) - 10%
    Sanders - 2%

Sanders should end his campaign & embrace Biden as the nominee. It’s over.

Yeah it's still gonna be a minute for states like Texas and Georgia, but it's still inspiring that southern strongholds are changing. As ancient racists keep croaking and urban populations keep growing (Atlanta's predicted to grow to from 5.5 to 8.5 million by 2050) there's a good chance of them both becoming purple states.

edit: just looked it up and over half of georgia's population is in the atlanta metro area so that's even more inspiring.

As much as I’d like to see Texas turn blue, it’s gonna be awhile. Democrats haven’t been able to win a gubernatorial or senate race here in a long a--- time. Problem is democrats don’t have any powerhouse candidates in Texas.

Oh mos def, the vast majority of people don’t really pay that much attention to this stuff. At most they probably see a few clips of the debate on fox or msnbc. I remember seeing a poll that said a good chunk of people don’t even decide who they’re gonna vote for til Election Day or a few days before. Yeah some Warren supporters are caught up cuz they think Warren SHOULD win or DESERVES the nomination...but that’s not how things work.

Looks like the writing’s on the wall at this point unfortunately. It might still be fairly close but think Biden’s gonna get a majority of the delegates.

Forgot to mention the down ballot implications of a trump win. We need to reclaim the senate and secure our majority in the house.

Right. And again, presidential politics are all about this ebb and flow about 'less government / more government' right? Trump - his ego, his intrusive stranglehold over talking heads media - is effectively a more government president... at least in the sense we always hear from him and his bs. so i think voters see sanders and his promise of more government intervention and see a correlation kind of. biden would be quietly competent (hopefully) and i think that resonates

as we saw with hillary/trump debates, and tbh the majority of bidens debates, it doesnt matter. we need to stop pretending people are following this bs

i keep seeing warren supporters sooo shocked politics arent a meritocracy. like duhhh hellllloooooooooo no one likes that overachieving student in class

this is a really good night for Biden. Did NOT see him winning Minnesota. Looks like he could well win Maine and Mass too, which would be upsets. And Texas is going to be a squeaker

@Swizz with the GOAT post. Holy. Only thing I disagree with is that I do think Medicare for all is achievable but we have to win some elections first & the filibuster has to go. The ACA wasn’t popular at all when it was initially passed & in fact, didn’t come out of the red until Obama was out of office I believe.

P.S. I voted symbolically for Warren today because Sanders is probably going to win CA regardless. Warren has been so impressive in d--- near all the debates. It’s a shame we won’t see her on a debate stage vs Trump.

@Swizz periodically decides to show why he was (is?) the best at this game. I just read your post to the second half instrumental of Layla playing.

Only thing I object to, respectively, is no way is the DNC speech some goofy mr peanut anecdote or whatever lol. You saw his speech after SC? Scripted yes - but that’s the message of a winner.

(Also I can Def see warren playing spoiler. Her people are terrible but they’re also pretty close w biden folk. Consultant game is an investigation world hehe)

Income after your first 10 million is proposed to be taxed at 52%. It's not taking 52% of your entire paycheck but even if it was (and I can't say this enough: it's not) you'd still have almost 5 million lol. I know you're going to disagree with what I think about that but I just wanted to be clear about how the tax brackets would work.

I'm fine with higher taxes for the working class (aka myself) if that money is allocated to things like M4A, education, infrastructure, etc.
