Jan 31, 2020 Dems lost over 1,000 seats under the leadership of Obama, Pelosi and a Schumer. Midterms and presidential elections are different. Obama got new voters involved in 2008. Trump got two time Obama voters to flip in 2016. Bernie brought new voters into the process in 2016. Midterm elections don’t typically excite new voters and usually the party not in control gain more seats @Papa Alpha Andy Sanders continues to bring new voters into the mix. He polls highest among independents and voters who flipped to Trump. Yang also has the ability to flip former Obama voters who flipped to Trump. People are still wanting anti establishment candidate who will fight for the best interest. We’ll see how it shakes out. If Bernard wins the first three contests he’ll get more voters on his side and pick off some Super Tuesday states he wasn’t expected to win.
Jan 31, 2020 @Head Bussa lots of generalities in your post. Not going to parse them point by point. Apparently you want to discount historic results over some hypothetical scenario w Bernie lol. Obama, as I’ve said, was an anomaly in terms of the coalition he stitched together. I’ve also said before - looking beyond 2018 - the party wins by linking older working class voters w black voters. I’ve yet to see anyone spouting Bernie platitudes to refute that - as of the latest polling biden is at 49% African American support (oh gosh, am I saying GASP electability should be a factor lol) Bernie supporters are way too feverish and clouded in their thinking. Huge tell.
Jan 31, 2020 anyone pretending to know what happens next week is kidding themselves - John Delaney just dropped out. Anything can happen.
Jan 31, 2020 f--- the dnc. We gotta win so overwhelmingly that it’ll make their heads spin @Big Cuntry @Zeugma
Jan 31, 2020 ugh that's pretty weak. But it doesn't sound like that has any traction at the moment so hopefully nothing to worry about.
Feb 1, 2020 Clinton has absolutely been acting like a child these past couple months. She’s clearly salty & maybe some of what she says has merit but this isn’t the time to air out her grievances. Clinton has definitely not been smearing Sanders for 4 years though lol.
Feb 1, 2020 Yeah agreed. I think the divisiveness stems way more from the Bernie camp though. Still don’t get how someone NOT a member of the Democratic Party can complain about how unfair things are so incessantly. You’re an independent be an independent

Feb 1, 2020 So Joe Biden being a senile old man is a media smear but the Bernie Bro narrative isn’t? lol What specifically makes Sanders supporters more toxic than any other group of supporters for other candidates? That they’re the most vocal? Like what are people mad about that Bernie supporters angrily call out other candidates for courting billionaires and not giving a s--- about universal healthcare?
Feb 2, 2020 Oh cmon. Bernie’s whole brand is about disruption: the party, the economy, health care. But you say - hey these ideas are a little divisive and BTW accusing everyone who disagrees of <moral cowardice> is unfair and obnoxious - it’s suddenly reaffirms this silly us vs them mentality. Sure some people are coming at Bernie’s politics honestly — but this ostrich mentality where you can’t even comprehend how toxic his base is simply baffles me. Here’s the problem: when you’re idealistic and don’t really know d-ck about politics lol you see someone “pure” like Bernie and you assume that’s an aspiration. Doesn’t take into account how things actually work, or would work. But since there’s this cognitive naïveté in place any criticism is just “they’re out to get us man!” Edit - like “not giving a s--- about universal health care” okkkkkkk? The fact you characterized the divide that way is v telling
Feb 2, 2020 Idk man, I just don’t think it’s fair to compare a group of people who legitimately want things better for all people to trump supporters. Like if you look through a bunch of Random Trump profiles on twitter you’re going to find xenophobic, racist, etc comments right away but that’s not something you’re going to find if you look through a bunch of Sanders profiles. I’m sure there are racist and misogynistic sanders supporters out there but I don’t think that’s something characteristic of his base, it’s something that exists in virtually every candidate’s base because there are a lot of people who are racist and misogynistic. When I look at Bernie supporters I see people who are mad or passionate not people who are toxic. I don’t think disruption equates to toxicity, not does finding them obnoxious (which I think is completely fair—if you don’t support a candidate loud supporters of another candidate or gonna come off as obnoxious). Are there thousands of people who don’t know s--- about how things work who support Bernie? Of course. But there are even more passive voters who don’t know or care who vote every year. To me that’s more inherently characteristic of the average voter than any specific group of supporters. For the record I’m not implying you or anyone have a moral gap for supporting Joe Biden or whoever. But I don’t think it’s unfair for people to be talk s--- about other candidates for not supporting universal healthcare or whatever issue is important to them lol. There are people out to get Bernie! Just like there are people out to get every candidate! i guess tldr I still don’t see why people use the word “toxic” unless they’re truly opposed to his policies but I understand “annoying” or “obnoxious”
