    Post Super Tuesday FiveThirtyEight probabilities:

    Biden - 88%
No one (contested convention) - 10%
    Sanders - 2%

Sanders should end his campaign & embrace Biden as the nominee. It’s over.

We’re just doomed for another four years of Trump aren’t we? Never voted before for anything because I’m not interested in politics as I think both sides are way too hypocritical. Turned 18 just before the 2012 election, so have had the chance to vote two times now and passed. Never really saw myself voting in my life before these past couple years, but now I just want the trump circus gone. Dudes a f---ing idiot, and the thought of him winning this and spending the next four years putting together a plan for either his son or daughter to run next is scary. I just want it to go back to the old way where both parties didn’t necessarily like each other’s views, but at least could understand it and it was strictly about politics. Sick of this overly politicized culture we now have tbh. Really wanna vote for the democratic candidate no matter who it is, but also don’t want to waste my time going through all the bs steps just to have trump win again regardless.

That turnout is so disappointing. Not even just cuz of Bernie, but cuz a more powerful youth vote could really make a difference in general. I'd be curious what the numbers are for, say, 24-29 vs. 18-23 are. I'd like to think at the very least people post-college age would vote more, it's a weak number no matter how you slice it.

@Enigma does that number mean 13% of the total voters in the election were under 30 (taking into account people of all ages), or only 13% of eligible voters under 30 turned out?

13% of eligible voters under 30 would probably be the higher number. A general election usually only gets 50% of eligible voters, and primaries get a fraction of that.

EDIT: Yeah, only 28.5% of eligible voters usually turnout for presidential primaries. probably down further for states with open primaries because there's an incumbent on one side.

I'll step back in here, the last time I expressed what the voters of my age group (18-29) clearly reflected on super Tuesday, which is we've stopped giving a s--- because it's been proven D.C. does not want a candidate that we would like in the White House and they will be stopped one way or the other, if you're a Democrat. Now people who are my age that are Republican are ready for a 2nd Trump term. I'm Independent, l look for the best of both parties and see who can get the most checkmarks from me. The only person who could defeat Trump would have to be able to handle both sides of the aisle. Joe Biden has a better shot than Sanders because he has more DC respect, but public opinion (online) sways towards Bernie. Online support has proven to not materialize at the voting booth though, so anyone bitching about the results must've falsely believed social media would be a game changer this year. To tell you the truth, people between 23-29 more and more are off it nowadays

If you're sick of the "overly politicized culture" we're in today then you're looking at the corporate media and the democratic party as the main culprits - and I say this as an independent by the way not a Republican or a conservative. You're absolutely right when you say US politics are anything but normal right now, but Trump is pretty normal by contrast. On issues like immigration and taxes he sounds like Ronald Reagan, Clinton and Obama when they were running for office. Trump's presidency is kind of like if these people had actually kept their campaign promises rather than sell their souls to neoliberalism/neoconservatism. Trump is not extreme or fanatic. The only thing that's been extreme and fanatic is the way he's been reported on by the usual suspects, CNN,NYT, Wapo, etc. There's a reason his approval rating has been on the rise for some time now, with it hitting the highest it's ever been at 46.4 in the RCP aggregate about a week ago. You'd expect the reverse trend if not removal from office by now if Trump wereas terrible as these groups claim.

in our culture, perception is way more important than reality, so even if it’s not really the presidents fault or not, it is perceived to be. I won’t speak on Trump for a political point of view because I don’t pretend to know anything about politics and I don’t have any interest in them at all. But trump as a person is just a piece of s---. Trump comes off like an arrogant dumbass to me, but I’d probably be able to live with it if there wasn’t a new story regarding him every day, plus the divisiveness he brings whether fair or not. I just want it to go back to normal with lifetime politicians arguing about whatever ideology they see fit for the country from a strictly political point of view. I know there’s always been racial undertones from the GOP extremists and of course extreme weirdness from the far left, but most normal people just act on what they truly believe is best for the country/themselves. It sounds extremely privileged, I know, but I just want it to go back to where I can avoid politics all together opposed to right now where it’s brought into everything, and I believe that’s because of the Trump presidency.

As an independent I can usually say both sides have good candidates, but the lefts major options this year are all really awful, which is surprising since theyre running against Trump

Quit trying to rush him, if he isn’t ready for it. Let him decide on his own. He’ll vote when he wants, how he wants. Ik what you’re trying to do.
