How people have managed to be duped into believing Trump is an anti-war candidate is bizarre.

And every rightwing pundit calls Biden a Chinese sleeper cell communist who serves Emperor Xi before America. When Obama was running there was a constant xenophobic/racist smear campaign about his birth certificate and saying he's a Muslim (which many rightwingers use a derogatory term like when Trump called Biden a Palestinian). What's your point? Both sides of the media sling s--- and exaggerate.

    But as @hargydon said:
Paul Pelosi was beaten with a hammer and Trump mocked him. January 6th obvs. "Proud boys, stand down and stand by." He talks about being a dictator for his first day on office. Trump constantly uses authoritarian/nationalist rhetoric and terminology. Dinner with white supremacist/holocaust denier Nick Fuentes. The list goes on lol.

We're largely a rightwing country and are much closer to fascism than we are to communism. The idea that Joe Biden is a communist or that communism could ever take hold in America is beyond laughable, it's hysterical. He's a centrist at best. But Trump openly stokes the flames of fascism and is probably the most divisive political figure in our country's history. Of course that's gonna cause division.

Look I think Joe Biden sucks and I don't consider myself a democrat, it's just sadly the closest viable option I have to anything approaching my political views. Obviously the left contributes to divisiveness too, but Trump is so clearly the keystone that changed everything. The dems are obsessed with being "reasonable" and seeming "presidential" etc. in a way that the MAGA right has completely shattered.

Anyone who lives in this country knows how radically different political discourse feels and how much the gap widened between left and right after Trump. Pre-2016 and post-2016 are like night and day.

The 20 year old didn't s---t at Trump because he thought he was Hitler.

He shot at him because he was worth the most points and he wanted the high-score.

If Biden was in that field and some how had as incompetent security detail as Trump, (don't see how).... he would have shot at Biden.

If he had a shot at Taylor Swift he would have took it.

He wasn't a Democrat, lefty,, liberal, SJW or antifa... he was a bullied kid that loved his gun and was trying to get a high score... if Trump didn't swing by there this weekend he would have shot up an elementary school this fall.

They are everywhere here in America.

We once had a Democratic Socialist as a President... and he f----- things up so bad that he was elected 4 times in a row... he rebounded America from the Great Depression, lead America to victory in greatest war in human history.... and 95% of America'n's at some point still rely on his signature legislation (medicare/medicade and Social Security) to this day.

If Trump was at that townhall... they'd probably just end up jumping and stomping out some random Sikh guy in attendance.

He's a "Yes and" guy when it comes to hatred and violent rhetoric.

Let’s not forget the key part which is without the strong Left base that existed at the time despite the red scare, none of that would’ve been possible… now your country doesn’t have enough of a Left force to impact politics which allows the Overton window to be pushed to the right every election. The Democrat party has just become the “vote for us because we’re not Trump” party which is unsustainable.

For 9 years Trump has been the "Vote for Pedro, and all your dreams will come true" canidate.

He doesn't beleive in anything and never states his policies coherently.... so his fans just tell themselves that he believes what they believe and ignore anything that contradicts that.

The consequences of 9/11 seem to have produced such a strong shift in American ideology from the Superstructure that will probably be studied for hundreds of years down the line. It’s fascinating that a huge chunk of today’s divisions seem to be downstream from there.

The Democratic Party does have a platform and policy goals.

They just are handicapped by the trillion dollar right-wing grifting entertainment complex that was caused by Reagan's repeal of the Fairness Doctrine and the Electoral College.

Democrats think they can make up this handicap by giving rural areas more broadband internet and shovel ready infrastructure jobs.

Meanwhile the Republicans plan is to have military tribunals for anyone who has ever registered as a Democratic Party member to vote, then frog march them all to barges headed to Gitmo.

Yeah he’s an idea, a symbol, a project that his supporters will manifest their beliefs in as a reaction for their grievances with elements of the status quo. No matter how much it relates to the man himself.

Someone needs to harvest that energy, because it’s always going to exist, & scoffing at the reactionaries is only going to intensify it. The Right sweep up because they sell people an easily digestible excuse for the issues of their lives, a false dream — whilst a lot of liberals, & left-wingers view the illiterate masses as “deplorable.” If you treat people that way, you can’t be surprised when they decide to choose the other side.

The average Trump supporter would punch their mom in the face if Trump told them to.

They are deplorable and they are in a cult and their grievances are stupid and not real.

They want to destroy America because a black girl was in the new Little Mermaid and a trans person got paid to do an instagram post for the mega corporation that owns all the different beer brands.

After a 20 year old kid killed a ton of elementary kids in Uvalde Texas... the Republicans in Congress wore AR-15s lapel pins (I guess to support the murderer and the killings of the kids).

Imagine if yesterday there was just a cloud of red mist instead of Trump grabbing his ear and oafishly crouching down.

You think the Democrats would wear AR-15 pins?

It's the end of America.... I was lucky enough to experience its peak (the 90's).... back then it was just a funny oddity when you ran into a big lRush Limbaugh or Bill Cooper (the original Alex Jones) fan... but the majority of people lived in reality.

I can always move... as the measles and the mumps spread in America... legislation to recognize the Flat Earth starts moving through congress... drive by shootings on campaign buses start becoming the norm. Wages go down, overtime laws disappear.... only the 1% can afford to own property and Healthcare.

You guys will look back at 2009 through 2016 as the good times and you won't even realize why.

So far the shooting has a positive effect with all the unity talk, would be surprised if it lasts long but seems it's downing on Donald that his rhetoric backfired.

    incomparable

the reason trump lost was because the media insisted on blaming him for every single covid death in america and died on the “trump mishandled the covid response” hill, that was his nail in the coffin

furthermore, the perception of getting sick is not akin to being a ‘hero’ in the same way getting grazed by bullets that killed one and injured two others is in a world where presidents don’t usually survive assassination attempts..don’t gotta look much farther than his own friend Shinzo Abe
