    trump idolizes regan, who is on record speaking with Nixon calling black Americans the gamer word and “monkeys” while openly laying out the Republicans subsequent plan of appealing to underlying racism in white middle Americans to combat the dems (at the time) stranglehold on the poc vote

    same reason Trump tip ties around denouncing white supremacy, the children of low income white gen xers who went to prison and got swept up in the aryan brotherhood are fully grown and fully on his side

    Yeah it does. As early as 2015 I was saying Trump was going to win and got laughed out of that thread. and my confidence in a Trump victory only grew with time. I would have bet my net worth if I could.


    This year though man- there are so many different variables. Biden can win in a blow out before 10pm tomorrow night and I wouldn't be surprised. Trump can win in a blow out before 10pm tomorrow night and I wouldn't be surprised. It could look good for Trump tomorrow night and then the mail in ballots are counted next week and Biden wins and I wouldn't be surprised. Trump can flat out rob the election with his Supreme Court and I wouldn't be surprised. And the list goes on and on.



    People can poll all they want but if we're keeping it one hundred nobody knows how this is going to unfold.

    reminder that gun rights go hand in hand with both lgbt and poc civil rights and u are arguing for ppl not as privileged as u to not be able to protect themselves

    I for one would like my underrepresented friends to be able to feel some ounce of self protection in a nation where many states allow blatant murder of trans on the basis that their appearance “makes them fear for their life”

    How is this any different from the conservative “we need more good guys with guns!” argument? There are more firearms than people in the U.S. There needs to be some accountability. Obviously Americans aren’t doing that on their own, just look at firearm related crimes in the U.S. compared to other developed countries.

    absolutely correct but also the general proposed prereqs for gun ownership are not being a felon and not having a mental illness which disadvantages soooo many poc and lgbt while leaving the door completely open for right wing domestic terror and mass shooters which are the most pressing threat that can be dealt w via regulation (violent gun crime in low income areas can’t be solved w gun legislation imo those areas need to uplifted out of the situations that enable that behavior)

    It’s past midnight on the east coast so models have been shut off. Final numbers:



    Biden: 89% chance of winning
    Trump: 10% chance of winning



    Biden: 96% chance of winning
    Trump: 4% chance of winning

    Again, big caveat is that these models assume a generally fair & free election. Not confident that will be the case tomorrow.

    I promise you that people who know more about guns than you will always, always be able to circumvent these loopholes. Biden’s plan would do about as much to curtail gun violence as trumps tax plans will curtail bezos dodging taxes

    that being said yeah sure idrc if full auto or whatever else ppl who don’t use guns consider “assault weapons” were to get banned in a perfect world where it doesn’t effect marginalized communities. I think it’s missing the forest for the trees but sure
