No. “Entitlement to live in the U.S.” is allowing them all in, no immigrations process, no restrictions, just free flowing immigration/emigration. What I’m saying is we need a process that’s accessible to more people that want to come here. A process that doesn’t drag on for years & is unaffordable. If anything, I’m saying everyone is entitled to an opportunity to live here, no mater class, socioeconomic background, race, religion etc. That’s what the image of the U.S. is but it’s never really lived up to it. You know... Statue of Liberty, “give me your poor...” yada yada.

Americans get cheap produce because of undocumented labor. Everything we buy in the grocery store would be noticeably more expensive without undocumented labor. It is very beneficial to the average American, even if they don’t know it. Enforcing laws & racism aren’t mutually exclusive things. Laws can be explicitly racist (segregation) or they can be implicitly (war on drugs, immigration laws, housing etc) racist. If you have a law disproportionately impacting a certain group of people, that puts said law into question. Especially when the implementation of said laws show even more explicit racism (the poor care for undocumented immigrants in ICE detention). It paints a clear picture in my mind, especially from a country with such a racist history + the current administration in power, that the government really doesn’t give a s--- whether these people are sick, live, die, whatever. They just care about kicking them out as fast as possible & that’s cruel.

"Don't cross the borders without permission, and don't overstay your visa" is racist is it? As for being enforced in a racist manner? how so, because it's not like irishmen aren't getting deported. The fact that more brown people get deported just means more brown people break immigration laws than white people.

Of course that's what you think, but that's not true, in truth, nobody is entitled to that bar people who are citizens of the country. It's a privellage . Now i'm not against the US implementing whatever policy you want btw, i'm just saying that they aren't obligated to, nor is it something that justifies illegal immigration. similar to how men are not entitled to the body of any female, nor are non-us citizens entitled to any entry into the us. Females have full right to any form of discrimination in selecting the people they allow to f--- them.

I’ve spent the entirety of this discussion going over with you the atrocities/humanitarian problem that is occurring within the U.S. immigration system. We do need that if we hope to fix the immigration problem. Not to mention the various other economic benefits that the U.S. would gain from enabling more people the opportunity to come here.

No, a citizen is entitled access to their home country regardless of pretty much anything. Their is no “process” that they must go through in order to come home. There’s very little restrictions (if any) if an American citizen wants to come back to the states. An immigrant must go through an immigration process (but this process must be fair! This is the underlying issue.) that does have restrictions on who can be allowed in & who can’t. For instance, individuals with criminal records are not going to be allowed to legally immigrate to the U.S. Also, when you’re a country of immigrants, founded by immigrants, & have spent the entirety of your history touting that “diversity makes us strong,” encouraging people to come live the American Dream, bla bla bla, I think there’s a *clear* obligation set there. It’s extremely hypocritical of the U.S. to have a restrictive immigration policy given the bedrock/foundation of its history. Again though, I’m only talking in respects to the U.S., not any other country.

like my mate nearly got deported back to NZ himself. fucken poor c---- has to drive his kids to school with a suspended license and has had literally a handful of traffic offences all due to him driving his kids to school. Judge threatened to deport him but when he described his situation "family man, have kids, kids need to go school, had to drive them" the judge was like "ok you broke the law but I can understand why, you still broke the law so i have to give you time due to your history - but, you'll be out before christmas to see your family I'm not heartless"
