Jul 3, 2016 this would be another neat way of doing things, essentially how i do it but with a tom for the highs. i've also used a regular sub bass preset for 3xosc in FL as my low bass '808' instead of an actual 808. tons of ways to do it tbh

Jul 3, 2016 essentially how i think you'd set it up would be to put in an 808 for your bass notes that you normally can't hear unless you've got a sub on. make your melody for your 808. then add a tom and cut the low end off of it, and go up an octave on your scale for the tom so you can hear it nice and crisp and paste in those same 808 notes. i think that would work anyways, as long as the tom is tuned right and you get the right kind of tom with a longer hit
Jul 3, 2016 here's where im at after a little more work, after going back and forth with the artist I'm working with he wants a 16 bar intro and a 40 bar verse. But he had me speed up the verse so I did something I have never done before and have a tempo change in the middle of the song. The first 16 bars (intro) is at 92 bpm while the last 40 bars are 104 bpm. here's to compare, i didn't time this but im guessing this was about 100 minutes of work since the last time
Jul 4, 2016 Made this in 27 minutes. Im really slow at making beats, so this was hard for me. Well its not a full beat, and didnt end up being good but i will try again and do better I didnt have time enough to make the synth lead melody good.
