    Samsung bought digital copies, then Tidal gave out the album for free, but it was sponsored by Samsung.

    This one's different it was sumn like u could use a link and you could download it for free then, i assume that had to count to sales

    No. On Tidal you could enter the code ''Sprint'' and then you would get the album for free. Sprint bought copies of 4:44 which enabled Tidal to give out the album for free, but it was paid for by Sprint.

    ok so let me run this down and let me know if im right

    lets say i own a company called cuckedcats...now i am also a rapper and i made an album, lets say i phone in Sony and tell them i will sell them 10 million copies for, lets say 23 dollars...now they paypal 23 dollars and they upload my album to 10 million users, lets say half of a state of America...now, i can call RIAA and tell them i went Diamond ?

    I don't think it necessarily has to have 1 million downloads, as long as Sprint paid for 1 million copies.

    yea but thats what i am saying, they didnt pay for 1 million copies because the platform is owned by the same rapper...there is no manufacturing costs or middle men so he can sell them a million copies for 2 dollars

    then, the users didnt actually buy the album it was given to them for free
