@Winter made an interesting point in the thread about the new Bun B album.
How many rappers are still making quality music deep into their 40's? Some recent ones off the top of my head (excluding Bun's latest, which is still too new)

From Relapse to MMLP2, I would consider them decent at best. They were nowhere near great, but were enjoyable for some parts. You might not like them, but I do to an extent. Em did sell out, but it was tolerable sometimes. Except Revival, which I never even heard before besides a few tracks & the singles. I can agree, that they were horrible. Kamikaze had very corny lines and subjected too much on disses and aggression, at least that s--- wasn't an hour or longer.
Don't take anything I said here as aggression to you. I wasn't planning on that. I don't like what you said, but I can respect it nonetheless.Last edited: Apr 22, 2019Buddha, Ricky, Ordinary Joel and 2 others like this. -

Juicy J can be on there, he never changed his style, which I'm a big fan of. Add in Tommy Wright and just maybe Playa Fly. Gangsta Pat fell off heavy.
Z-Ro, Bun, and K Rino haven't disappointed me in a recent project yet.
Em is just a personal taste, before Revival dropped, he hasn't dropped a completely horrible album, Encore is tolerable.
Devin might be on there (he's 48?)Ordinary Joel, Michael Myers, Sav Stanfield and 2 others like this. -

Q's a better producer than rapper to be completely honest. Phife was the best rapper, but Q was the best all around.Zeugma, Buddha, Sav Stanfield and 1 other person like this. -

As great as Q-Tip was on We Got It From Here, the real star of that album was Phife. He was at his peak in the last year of his life.Zeugma, Buddha, Sav Stanfield and 1 other person like this. -

Eminem is the one name that should never be brought up in this context

Lol @Michael Myers i should have specified. I guess i would agree with picking Em in that case. Although his s--- music outweighs his good music in his 40s. In terms of rappers that have actually produced better (or their best) music in the 40s i think the list is pretty d--- short.Buddha, Enez, Michael Myers and 1 other person like this. -

Dre is in his 50's I think.
Snoop fell off hard in the early 2010's, but is picking himself up now, well mostly.
Is Spice 1 a good pick?
And how can I forget about Scarface?Ordinary Joel, Sav Stanfield and Michael Myers like this.
