    Anyways this isn't a review of the album, it's looking at a select few bars on the album and using that to paint a narrative while ignoring the elements that make this project good. The tampon bit shows how zoomed in the look really is.

    It was a funny read though, I'll give you that.

    Anyone who listens to music knows that everything depends on context. Kanye can get away with a lot of goofy s--- when he's doing his aw-shucks thing on soul samples; it gets harder to sell something like the bleached a------ line on Pablo, because it's trying to be an artful song and it just doesn't click. If you go back and listen to those great Eminem radio freestyles, a lot of the punchlines don't look good on paper, but he was so fluid and so fun that it didn't matter. By contrast, at this point in his career, he's straining so hard to force every line that it reads differently, and far worse.

    The thing is though, there's nothing wrong with that. I get that he dresses them up as something deeper, and that's why people have an issue with it, but the music is still great all things considered.

    I'm not saying he's the second coming of Nas, but this album is great through out and if we're caught up on his lack of authenticity in regards to his relationships, we're going to miss that fact.

    I'm lite skin tho so all these anthems are tailor made for my life, Im the type of guy to fall in love with the lady who takes my order at Starbucks and spells my name on the cup right.

    Listened to Take Care on the way down to Long Beach today. It's bloated and kind of a mess--the back half can be such a slog--but it unquestionably has Drake's best/most interesting songs.

    There are redeeming qualities, a wealth of them. But approaching a review like this doesn't even allow that discussion to be had. Instead it's material for those looking to parrot any negative narrative with this album.

    Looking at bars through a microscope and calling it a review isn't wrong I suppose, but it does put a pretty low ceiling on how good this review can be. And I guess you built the most you could with that 3 foot ceiling you put over this reviews head.

    You're a great writer and you're funny tho so it was still an entertaining read.
