And Drake does haven't anything, not one single thing, as genuine as that verse on views

d--- thanks for the insight on the mind of a mental midget, it's really incredible to get an #narshexclusive in to the mind of a r----- like yourself.

talk about personal attacks when they're relevant to my point, but u think it's groundbreaking to rap "i raise my kids with a passion" so i wouldn't expect a kid with your mental capacity to thread that together lol.

At times, but that's kind of a generalization. He's personal when he wants to be but sometimes he comes across as shallow.

Yeah I can't lie him not showing that side of him on an album about his city was kinda disappointing. Not to the point where it makes the album less enjoyable but he's shown the ability, not sure why he decided not to on Views.

What do Drake fans now think of the album & compared to his previous work?

I assume saying it was a classic was just excitement at its initial release. For me NWTS is a better album. I prefered Drake when he was doing alot of YMCMB collab's tbh.

The "augmenting bars" part is true, I think there's been about a dozen songs where Thug has said some variation of "I love my kids because I'm a decent parent and human being" and you've touted each of them as some amazing insightful gesture of love and paternal affection.

Too early for me to rank it against TC & NWTS but I think it's better than IYRT.

well, with a discog mainly about lust and the spoils of wealth they are insightful gestures of love and paternal affection

and none of that still has ANYTHING to do with how the first verse on King TROUP is anything short of one of thug's best.

you guys get so bent out of shape whenever i comment on Thug that you don't even know what you're arguing yourselves anymore.

edit: not to mention I never said his line about his kids is what makes or breaks the TROUP verse. I said its because of how the verse starts with him beating his case and celebrating by "f---ing twins" then within a span of a few bars realizing Roscoe didnt beat his case and being thankful for his freedom

somehow thats reaching when its literally right there on paper

Well you get what I'm saying right? Rap verses can be very much "about" something even if they aren't linear stories. In that sense--and I imagine you're just doing this to f--- with Simha--you're kinda losing me with your reading of King Troup.

Not that I'm co-signing Narsh's analysis (I haven't seen the posts you're referencing) but considering the knee-jerk with Thug is "he's shallow! he only talks about money and cars!" I think it's more than fair as a corrective.

Because I think you're stanning him rn. Not that the line is bad, but it's no "I'm taking everything and that come with my children." Simply acknowledging your children doesn't merit the praise you're giving him for that line. For the record I'm not comfortable being lumped in with whatever party you see as antagonizing you because I literally just glanced through the thread and happened to see your statement I took issue with.
That's not really what I'm arguing, see my above post. I just don't think that saying "I love my kids" is as profound a message as narsh makes it out to be, especially contrasted with lines like "I got brothers and sisters to feed, I ain't going out like no idiot ima OG" where his familial ties are more than just a passing reference.

lol, I mean, do you want their social security numbers? A lot of songwriting is implicit, and I think talking about your kids directly adjacent to where you talk about your friend rotting in jail and how he didn't have a dad gets its message across pretty unambiguously.

can we stop talking about what @WPG thinks about a drake album (newsflash: he hates it!) and focus on this:

lmao you guys are really all over the f---ing place. I never pointed out the line about his kids, Hasman did so he could sidestep his weak reasoning behind the troup verse being anything less than one of the best of the year

i literally only mentioned the line about his kids in passing to WPG like 8 pages ago and even then lumped it in with the line about f---ing twins lol. the roscoe bit is what im championing here -- from the delivery to the writing....which the line about his kids ties in to.
