Jan 23, 2016i was randomly listening to Compton today, and i kinda forgot the insult that occurred there..Em rapped on the ONLY beat not made by Dre...i have seen some insults in my life, but this one is top 3..we went from "dont worry about that detox album, we gon make dre do it"..to this?
Em kept dre relevant for over a decade..n----- should pay Em more respect

there's a weird distance between the two ever since relapse.

Far from an "insult"
First of all there wasn't ONE good beat on the Compton album anyway. The fact that Dre actually produced that whole album except Medicine Man is mind boggling. I didn't think he did any production on it. Sure as h--- doesn't sound like he did.
Second of all, Eminem’s verse on Medicine Man is the ONLY good verse on the album. It's one of his best verses in recent years.
Third, the Compton album is a f---ing disgrace. How do you go from two undeniable classic albums, two of the Top 5 albums in the history of rap, to making us wait 16 years for an album that literally doesn't have one good song, not even one good beat, not even one song worthy of being a single or getting radio play or a video. I literally just can't understand in the slightest bit why Dre thought this s--- was good enough to release. It's the most disappointing album in the history of music, any genre.Mothrfckr, Tarre86, dutchforce and 6 others like this. -

I heard from a credible source that Dre is pissed that Eminem used Rick Rubin on MMLP2. Turns out he scrapped a lot of Dre beats in favor of Rubins work.Tarre86, Dj Diesel, Rockstation and 5 others like this. -

There's also this:
Anderson .Paak: “Medicine Man” is a crazy story. That was one… There are always those records that are in danger of not making it and then they end up being one of the best joints on the album. That right there was running the risk of not making the album all the way up until the last day. There was some communication issues with the second verse and Em wasn’t sure. Like, they thought he heard the new version but he didn’t, and I believe at one point Em wasn’t going to be on the record at all. But then he took it upon himself to really go in on that track. And at first, he had inserted an old verse from previous recordings—’cause there’s like a vault of recordings—he put in an older version and Dre left it, but there was a bridge they didn’t like. So I wrote my little part and I wasn’t even sure what they were going to think. That was a process. And when Em finally heard it he was like, “Woah.” He loved everything about it. So he wrote that crazy verse.Mothrfckr, Dj Diesel, Groovy Tony and 4 others like this. -

That chemistry in Medicine Man is noticeably missing, especially after songs like Forgot About Dre. In that track, Eminem didn't even feel like a featured artist. They felt more like a Bad Meets Evil or OutKast type duo in their older songs. In this track, he feels like a featured artist.Mothrfckr, ShadyRedDevil, Sign Language and 3 others like this. -

I actually really enjoyed Eminem's verse, but the song is so random/out of place compared to the rest of the album. It seemed like an obligatory guest verse.Mothrfckr, threee, ShadyRedDevil and 3 others like this. -

anyone else get the vibe from medicine man that it wasn't made with Eminem in mind? I mean look at how insanely different Dre's part is compared to Em's. I love the song but there's little to no chemistry there.
I really hope they get things together for Em's next album because there's a high chance it's his last..Dj Diesel, ShadyRedDevil, Loyalty and 2 others like this. -

Also, Eminem said after relapse he wanted to branch out and work with different producers. For a recluse and a guy firmly entrenched in his habits and routines, that's a big change. I don't think he imagined it would be this many years without releasing anything with Dre (other than Compton). Who knows, maybe over the last year or two Dre's been sending him beats. We really don't know anything that goes on.
Either way, I agree with you. And I've said this numerous times. I really really want Em to release another album with Dre and the aftermath team, Bass brothers, and Resto. I want these pairings to comprise most of the album. Maybe a couple other producers sprinkled in for good measure. Who knows, maybe this has been happening. And maybe the output isn't that great. Unless someone with inside knowledge (@Koolo) knows for sure Em and Dre haven't worked together on anything, I will remain hopeful. I really want this to happen again. -
