    can't fault this, it'd be better than gun control at this point. with all these people holding the mindset of basically "it is my right" it's going to be a long grind to get to a point where gun control works. Training teachers/students to be more mindful of their peers/students would probably be a much faster form of progress. I think adding mental health to school curriculum's would be a huge step towards that.

    Literally don't know how you pull a fire alarm and run off. Kid should have tried to stop the shooter. Save some lives and die a martyr or live a hero. Win/Win in my book. Give me all the smoke.

    Doesn't that make it worse? Schools have lockdown procedures for these type of situations. You pull the fire alarm and everyone enters the hallway and becomes a target

    Correction: a student saw the gunman enter the school & pulled the fire alarm in attempt to warn everybody to get out. Kudos to that kid.

    I can't even count how many times a mass shooting thread has been made here in the last 2 months, this mass shooting trend needs to stop ASAP

    Well my stepdad was at the Trump Resort in his hotel room right across from and watching the gunman and police shootout and his response after it was over was “After this event I have changed my mind on hand guns. I'm getting one. I felt helpless after locking the dead bolt.“

    if trump can somehow sign a treaty with NK, SK, China, and Japan, then why the f--- can’t every media outlet come together and agree not to show shooters face and name publicly?

    Here’s my solution,
    - stop showing shooter on tv
    - armed guard at every school
    - metal detecters
    - parents held accountable for not securing firearms at home
    - having an active shooter alarm in every school, as there seems to be someone always pulling the fire alarm and people don’t know whether to run or hide
    - all day training seminar for every teacher what to do if there’s a shooter
    - get rid of the no gun zones

    No you brain dead idiot. It’s not “fact.” Chicago is not an island. 60% of the guns found on crime scenes in Chicago originate from outside of Chicago. Guns flow into the city from neighboring states with more lax gun laws.
