May 19, 2018 Yes because it is true for every other country. But america is a unique situation, it is simply too late to do anything substantial about gun control. There are over 350 million guns in circulation legally in the united states, for example in australia when they did a ban there were only a couple million. It is simply impossible to truly control guns in the united states because the supply is endless. This is not including guns in circulation illegally, which are often cheaper. This number could be close to 500 million of more, nobody knows the amount of illegal firearms. I feel like when people advocate gun control in the united states they simply do not know the breadth of the issue, which is understandable cause this is the only place with such a supply and the numbers are often never presented. You could ban many of the weapons used but that doesnt do anything about the tens of millions cheaply available illegally. The best thing we could do that makes sense is far stricter background checks, elimination of loopholes (gun shows and the like). We would have had to do something about it in the early 1900s if we wanted to stop it. In a way, we f----- ourselves. But in my eyes with knowing how many weapons are out here, id rather own a gun than not have one.

Law abiding citizens still have guns. my m8s dad is ex-military and they got sheds full of .22's and s---. i know a guy in jail who got arrested and was in possesion of firearms. some leb bikie ran up and shot another leb biki in public. gun crime still happens with gun control, but none of the crimes end with a school being shot up lol

May 19, 2018 It certainly is if you want to point out the hypocrisy of gun control advocates. “Insane people” is a proxy for “insane white people,” of course, which is basically just a pretext to disarm white America. If the left really wanted to stop shootings, and if they were smart, their main focus would be mental health reform, not gun reform, and cracking down on gangs and ending the drug war in order to put cartels out of business. Some idiot in this thread said they felt safer around violent criminals than white teenagers. And of course there's this gem from the Parkland thread: To be young and naive...I miss those days.
