Aug 23, 2015 I mean, I'm not even trying to jump in this argument or nothing, but let's not pretend like these reviews mean anything anymore. Seems like every publication is just trying to be the first to publish 1000 words on an album, even if those words are conceived after only one listen. TPAB got 10/10s across the board the day after it leaked. Even if it were a 10/10 (which in my opinion it's not, but who cares what I think lol) how can anyone know that after 6 spins in less than 24 hours? Fantano giving B6 a 5 doesn't mean anything to me to be honest.
Aug 23, 2015 no one has the power to decide whether albums are good or not. music is subjective. you can hold opinions on certain albums being better than others or certain rappers being better than others.........but you can't prove it........so it's a opinionated matter. he's just one guy. his opinion doesn't hold any more weight than you, me or anyone else. i was just using him as an example, that's all. my main point with young thug is he doesn't have the consensus view that he's a really good artist. because if he did, then he wouldn't be as polarizing as he is. since you brought up kanye........during the time he was releasing college dropout, late registration.......there was a strong consensus among fans and other artists that kanye was/is an awesome artist. the vast majority of ppl would agree that he's really talented now can the same thing be said about young thug? now quiet narsh, and get ready for the NFL SEASON
Aug 24, 2015 Or TI, or gucci, nipsey, or akon..or future, or jamie xx, or the bunch of other people actually in the industry whove spoken up or supported thug
Aug 24, 2015 Depends on how you mean. Athletic greatness can be controversial, but usually pretty self-evident. Likewise, artists like Bob Dylan, Beatles, Michael Jackson seem to have clear cut praise. edit: "now quiet narsh" is the best turn of phrase ive read on here since this site began. gonna start using it now, thx @TimmyT
