Here’s one random thing I’ve been thinking about, in terms of quantifying Eminem’s legacy or impact or whatever. Diss tracks aside - Eminem is one of the few artists who has inspired actual songs, from other artists. Could make an EP practically :

Beautiful by Mariah obviously
That Pet Shop Boys song
Then Stan Lives and that whole thing

Call me crazy then. Because it is better than SSLP. And btw I love SSLP I still bump it time to time and probably still will time to time.

But I feel like Murdered is just that good of an album. The content is mostly pretty good, his writing might be the best of his career right now. His ability to switch up flows is top notch. Probably the 2nd best produced album behind Em show. Its a great album and it deserves lots of respect.

I'm one of those people and I've been a fan since My Name Is. I guess I've just grown out of that type of sound. I feel like it has aged the worst out of his albums but won't ever take away it's a great album, just not as great as it was when it came out.

And to think if Encore was an EP it would be a classic, if you add songs like We As Americans and Love You More. What a waste.

It’s exciting that Em is closer than ever to making another classic, but not quite there. MTBMB is closer than ever. But as s--- as Encore was, Encores very little highs are still higher than any high from every album that has followed. I love the lyrical miracle spiritual s--- more than most people but I also love a good song. And outside of maybe Darkness Em hasn’t been capable of that In the last 3/4 of his career. Mockingbird alone is better than everything from 2004-Now.
