That still sounds more like a complaint about the lyrics specifically—I'm with you on the songwriting aspect. But I'm talking about production in the most traditional sense, like not just making the beat—putting all the pieces together and creating the actual structure of a song. I mean something like Ghost Town or Use This Gospel or even I Thought About Killing You with the spoken word then the verse then the beat switch. Or how Selah builds up to the Hallelujah chants. He still has an ear for what sounds good, it's just that he puts all the pieces together and then forgets he has to write lyrics so he freestyles about calling up the muslims and telling them he's bout to go dumb. And like I think Violent Crimes is one of the dumbest songs he's ever written but the way 070 shake comes in at the beginning and then switches to him and how the beat progresses. I'm talking about stuff like that.

I believe Em once said he would find beats with random reference hooks and write songs based upon them, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because pretty much every artist that big gets reference tracks and there's nothing wrong with a basic song structure. It's just that when he's doing that rap god flow saying nothing or rapping really choppily over a mediocre instrumental and talking about getting beaten up D'Angelo Bailey at 47 years old or how some girl from a nonexistent relationship is such a stupid slut c---- b----...what's really left to appreciate? There's just not any musicality behind it, and when you're a rapper who's known for his lyrics and flow, you should at least have that part down as your saving grace.

@Big Cuntry I went w the long version of ur post and while I agree w some of ur points , I still think JIK sux and this is better overall. There are plenty of decent to good songs on MTGMB (yes also some average s---, sure) but that preachy stuff from the same guy that made MBDTF and WTT? He fell of just as hard as em at this point and u have to be a stan not to see that. Granted, last 15 years kanye's highs were 1000 times better than em.

Brah you can't just resort to saying "if you disagree with me you're a stan" after I wrote you an f---in essay explaining my views on their flaws and strengths in the past few years lol. Kanye fell off as a human being HARD but musically I don't think he fell off harder than Em because of everything I said in my post and my response to Worm. Yes Kanye fell off from greatness and 80% of his lyrics are trash now but his work as a producer is still great (and he made KSG less than two years ago, + Yandhi leaks). Yes I'm a much bigger Kanye fan but I felt like I was pretty fair with my post regarding both Em and ye's last two albums (like I've said before, Em dropped a better album than kanye in 2018).

But you are complaining about content on JIK (understandable) but praising a 47 year old who wrote this intro that sounds like a teenager's tumblr poem:

You'd f--- the Earth

It doesn't work
You're still a c----
I'm still a f---ing jerk

What are the good songs on this album? I'm genuinely curious lol. I'll give you one: the q-tip/black thought posse cut.

That line just stands out to me because it really hammers in the point to me that he hasn't matured in a lot of respects. Yeah misogyny is still very prevalent in hip-hop, but I'd take "I'm gonna f--- your b----" misogyny over something like the line I posted. I'm sure there are pockets of good writing on the album because even on his worst albums he still manages to sneak in some good verses. He's a talented writer who gives into his worst instincts when it comes to bad punchlines and edgy jokes. But show me what you think is good I'm genuinely curious and I'm not being sarcastic.

To this Em album? No, after Kamikaze I was actually really curious what he was gonna do next because that album was as close to a return to form as he's had since his hiatus. You can check the initial reaction thread for kami a lot of what I said was positive despite some gripes. As for this album I was skeptical of the long tracklist but very intrigued by all the features. I was excited when I heard the intro and the first track. But it all started to go downhill after that.

What about that post is me "digging deep?"

idk why people think I don't want Em to make a good album. People said the same s--- to me when I said scorpion was garbage...why would I want Drake to make a bad album? lol
