    Album still solid tbh

Leaving heaven is by SO far the best skylar collab

3rd verse is top 3 on the album easily

Problem is the first two verses are just guts over fear x2. If the entire song was about his dad it would be nuts

Yeah the choppy flow is kinda off putting. I don't mind it that much anymore tho and the 3rd makes more than up for it.

True true. Royce also really kills it. Honestly, listened this morning again and really enjoyed every song except too deep, little engine, stepdad, never love again.

So, I guess Mr. Mathers will be staying home this go around. I’m actually curious why he chose this route.

It’s a softball question I think. I think Sway in the future will be allowed to ask why he made this choice.

If this is real of course

    Disorderly Progress What's cookin?

Oh of course. The relationship tracks almost always bog his s--- down.
Needless, repetitive... and, IMO, inauthentic; I think we all feel like he makes them to serve a demographic (what f---ing demographic btw? lmao. Males don't like them, because we know they're insincere and what f---ing female wants to listen to a growly, misogynistic rap-bot groan about sluts) / so I don't know who they are for exactly...
But he thinks he needs them. I think he just uses the LL Cool J template, as a template.

Anyway, yeah, album would be much better without the relationship songs and No Regrets.

But, I get what you're saying @ 'Farewell' being out of place... on paper it should be, but doesn't feel so to me. Probably as he did the hook, so it doesn't feel out of place to me really. Similar tonality etc.
Wheras that No Regrets hook... sounds like some s--- which could be on any mainstream generic RnB album,
And there's nothing else like that on the album. Almost everything else has bounce, wheras that is spacious, drawn-out... Recovery-type-s---. The only major blunder for me. Is that.

I don't care if dude is a star. Irrelevant.
You're responding to him as an artist, a person...
    Rather than the hook itself.
And it's not even that the hook itself here is so bad...
But it doesn't fit the album.
Nothing else like it, it's out of place.
    It could be the best hook in the world, but if it's out of place - it's out of place;
You're telling me you feel that hooks fits, and meshes, with everything else?

"hey let's take this Nolan movie and stick a Tarrantino scene right here"... both f---ing geniuses and the scene could be amazing. But it's going to be out of place and f--- up the movie. Doesn't matter how good it is by itself.

somehow i like that he doing it like this.

For sure, Music Videos, interviews and all that stuff is nice but thats kinda funny. Most of the people want to see him doing interviews and he is sitting in the studio or his home and just thinks "f--- a promo".
I mean Paul is probably raging right know but it seems that marshall gives a dayum about stuff like this anymore. And thats pretty good for us, because that means that he also probably give a f--- what we think and he is just doing what he want to do with his music

He should just start to drop sometimes a track or an EP with just having fun on the mic.

Its the best for him when he just do what he wants to do and it looks like that he dont have the stress anymore and dont want it anymore to promote his stuff and with the whole indepentent stuff it could be possible that we will get an even better album than Kamikaze and MTBMB

    True.
That's been true of every album since his return though.
You could trim fat of... relapse, recovery, mmlp2 and murder and make AMAZING albums.

'Murder is good. But it could have, again, been a lot better.
Kamikaze was a much better step in the direction of quality control.

Easily could take 4 songs off 'Murder and it becomes so much better.

Also, where TFFFFFFF is BigQuint's reaction yo. Quint slipping. Need that s---.

    Nah B verse 2...
I get why people like verse 3, and his anger at the end feels authentic, and it was a little like 'whoah' first time I heard it...

But verse 2 'garden of eden' bit is one of the highlights of the album.
That's the bit I always go back to. Cinematic.

I don’t think it can be said for all his recent albums. You couldn’t cut down enough tracks off of Relapse, Recovery, MMLP2, or Revival and still make it a full length classic LP. Maybe an EP lol. With Kamikaze you could cut 3-4 tracks but that also wouldn’t make a full length project. MTBMB you could probably trim some fat and still have enough for a classic LP.

Em cares about his image and either him or his yes men want him to cater to all age groups and ages. That’s why we get these absolute mess of albums with no direction.
