Everybody is a guest in hip hop. Prove the otherwise ? No way. Pac and Biggie were the house owners if it makes sense at all and look where are they now ? Dead and people barely listen to them anymore. Eminem really is the rap god but he is as any other rapper is, a guest in hip hop industry. Hip hop will never be house of a person like that.

Y’all realize hip hop was birthed out of the struggles of being black in America right? Like that was the sole purpose when it first started, to voice the frustration of what it meant to be black in America. It’s obviously evolved in a lot of ways, but the roots of the genre are still in tact. Therefore, Eminem would be a guest in the culture. A welcomed guess obviously, but still. It’s not a negative thing like you guys make it out to be. And it’s not fair to compare hip hop culture to something like sports because sports were literally made for anyone to play. They weren’t invented for any other purpose or to aid the struggles of a certain group of people. The same group of people that always claim everyone else gets offended too easily are the very same people getting offended over this. When in reality, it’s not a bad thing that he’s a guest.

Anyone can use it! It’s not a bad thing to be a guest, looking at it from that perspective I can see why it would look offensive to say that. But when you just look at it like black people invented it and it’s still very much a predominantly black platform where they can voice their struggles as a group in the US, then it’s easy to see why people look at white people as a guest in the culture. Like I said, they are welcomed guests when they treat the culture respectfully like em does. More respectfully than a lot of black artists. However, when you think about rap and hip-hop the average person will associate the genre with black people first, not white people, and that’s indisputable. Of course, I’m speaking strictly from a USA perspective.
