Feb 14, 2017 Awesome! Got a day off from work so got time to do some stuff at home/watch some movies. Yours?
Feb 14, 2017 im on an impossible quest to learn f---ing russian grammar and lowkey hoping for an early apocalypse
Feb 14, 2017 If you've read the BLM platform, you would know this directly contradicts everything it lays out. I also question her "leadership" position. So often stories like this are published and the person is identified as a BLM "leader" when they're not. BLM is such a huge organization/movement that people often form their own chapters and totally disregard the actual platform it was founded on and push their own agenda/message--as you see here.
Feb 15, 2017 And I think Yusra has directly communicated with one too many alcoholic drinks as of recently.
Feb 15, 2017 I hear what you're saying but this woman has been at the forefront of BLMTO activity since the beginning she's a radical and she means what she says, and it hurts her organization's credibility.
Feb 15, 2017 Ehhhh.... BLM was found in 2010. The Toronto chapter of BLM was established in 2014. She's a leader within her chapter, sure; but she's not a national representative of the organization. Like I said earlier: BLM suffers from being a movement that's so large (I mean there's chapter all across the world) that it's impossible to entirely manage. It's really organized/managed chapter by chapter. Anyone can do or say anything in the name of BLM but I don't think it's fair to throw the entire organization under the bus for it--especially when it goes against their platform. That's why platforms exist.
Feb 15, 2017 Remember when BLM released a list of demands? lol such a joke, not sure how anyone can still take them seriously.
Feb 15, 2017 Of course they have demands.... they want change.... that's the whole point of the movement kon.....
Feb 15, 2017 BLM is just a racist organization funded by soros and other rich elite Democrats to stir up s--- and create division.
Feb 15, 2017 Yeah and calling it a list of demands like a terrorist organization is a great way to accomplish that, right? Also some of the demands were beyond ridiculous lol. 'Full and free access for all black people (including undocumented and formerly incarcerated) to lifetime education.' 'Guaranteed minimum livable income for all black people.' Think there was something about taking away the power from police in certain spots too lmao.
Feb 16, 2017 What else are they going to call it? A list of suggestions? Do you think black people during the civil rights movement asked for rights? No. They demanded and fought for it. --affordable and available public education --reparations for the opression black people have faced These aren't outrageous ideas kon. Higher education affordability has been one of the biggest issues in the U.S. for a while now. The U.S. has also given reparations to other groups of people (Native Americans/Japanese-Americans) throughout history. It's really not that crazy.
Feb 17, 2017 I'm talking more about BLMTO than the whole movement. Toronto is a large chapter and its the only active chapter in Canada, she's a de facto 'national' leader here there's a difference between challenging white supremacy and asserting white inferiority, this wingnut crossed that line
Feb 17, 2017 If you're saying the Toronto movement has an issue than yes, they certainly do. Their chapter's co-founder is preaching hate and contradicting the platform of the organization she claims to support. I think they should kick her out and condemn her statements. The other issue here is racism is different in every society. What BLM is fighting for in the U.S. is not necessarily what's being fought for in Canada or the U.K. Each chapter has different goals set.
