May 29, 2020Look at the case I posted above. It took them months to charge them and there was a video. They only charged them after it went viral.

Instead of boycotting Kaepernick... probably should have changed the culture of the police and fired cops that had 18 complaints against them and bodies on their revolver.Ordinary Joel, lil uzi vert stan, Mudkip and 3 others like this. -

Here's my thing: I understand being against looting. I'm not faulting anyone for that belief (I'm mostly a pacifist myself). At the same time, many of the people I always see who are most outspoken about being anti-looting in situations like this? I never hear a f---ing peep from them when police murder someone because of their race. This is possibly the most clear-cut case of police murdering someone with excessive force in recent history to the point that even other cops are speaking out against these dudes. So when people show up being outspoken about Target getting smashed up and haven't ever shown outrage about murders like these it shows me where their priorities are. To be clear I'm not accusing you or anyone of being pro-police brutality or racism, I'm just suggesting that people should reevaluate how they think about issues like these.
It reminds me of how people fixate on false r--- accusations instead of fixating on, you know, maybe stopping r---? Are false r--- accusations horrible? Of course, but if these people showed the kind of support they do to r--- victims that they do to people who were falsely accused, maybe we'd be progressing faster as a society.
I think this encapsulates it well:
Chris Brown was falsely accused of r--- (a matter that was solved in a number of days) and his reaction was to print and sell DAT b---- LYIN' shirts
Freddie Gibbs was falsely accused of r--- and spent a year in foreign trials in overseas prisons and his reaction was "this isn't a reason to not believe women, my situation was rare"Mudkip, Ordinary Joel, asvdawg and 3 others like this. -

what is the "mob mentality" that you have a problem with? is it the people protesting an unending string of state violence? should they have all held signs with their bullet-pointed disagreements with the other protesters?
"crippling economic violence" is not taking a nintendo switch from a corporation worth $60 billion. "crippling economic violence" is divesting budgetary funds year after year from things that would help communities and toward the police department.
i know you decided some time ago that community organizers are feckless losers, but at least they're trying––with vanishingly few resources––to keep people safe and make their neighborhoods better places; this includes the people who are out in the streets cleaning up debris in masks right now.
you are far too smart to not see that delegitimizing one kind of protest gives the cops a blueprint for how to turn public scrutiny away from them and onto the people they're murdering. the ideological middle ground you're looking for doesn't exist.Ordinary Joel, asvdawg, Buddha and 3 others like this. -

you make multiple accounts per week on a dead website where you don’t have a single friend. And yr President is currently melting down as his term ends (it’s just one term btw, since he lost re-election, since he wasn’t good at being a president). I've been to Portland almost every day this past week and funny I somehow didn't see any fires, riots or even any problems for that matter..according to the president it's basically the entire city that's on fire constantly, and it's been that way for decades.DKC, RetiredAccount, lil uzi vert stan and 2 others like this.
