I just mean the hyper left always speaks as if they alone have authority in moments like this. The last few election cycles have mostly repudiated the extreme policies and knee jerk emotionalism of the base but they cont to behave as if they’re winning the argument. That’s mostly an aside about the mechanics of outrage

Yeah, they are trained to s---t center mass of the target and people can still stand after getting hit by multiple shots. So I will say time and time again cooperate and you mostl likely won't be shot. Why pushing your luck?

He gave a bad oversimplified strawman argument hence why @cpt awesome WPG joint acc didn’t like the post even though we don’t see completely eye-to-eye on this either.

it’s also totally a red herring. No where did I say “no one cares if a cop gets shot.” That literally had nothing to do with my point. This might be shocking to Michael but...police officers have to put themselves in dangerous situations at times & risk their lives. It’s part of their job. Unfortunately, that means some police officers will die in the line of duty. There’s no avoiding that. If we want to 100% ensure police safety, we’d have to either a) completely remove police from the streets or b) give police officers total discretion when to use lethal force (essentially fascism).

I agree but their primarily goal in a potentially dangerous situation is not “I have to protect myself.” Their primary goal is de-escalation & conflict management. Police officers don’t get to be selfish. They are serving the community & therefore are obligated to put themselves out there to try to resolve/prevent conflict in a nonviolent/nonlethal manner if possible.

What I’m emphasizing is while police can defend themselves, there’s also an appropriate escalation of force that is not practiced in the states. Police are literally trained to s---t to k--- meaning if they fire their firearm, they continue to s---t until the suspect is assumed dead. That is barbaric & inexcusable.
