I’ve said this before in this thread but I’ll say it again: to me this argument boils down to an issue of priorities. As a preface: I don’t mean to say that you don’t care about the death of an innocent man—I don’t think anyone here is that heartless—but note that your post doesn’t mention anything about the fact that a policeman murdered a man by kneeling on his neck until he broke his windpipe and suffocated. When people’s gut reaction is to finger wag at people for stealing from Target, the implication is that this is that theft of replaceable objects is what’s most concerning at the present moment, not decades of police brutality, racism, and murder.

As a general rule, do I think stealing is wrong? Yes. Am I concerned about it at this very moment? Absolutely not. Again I’m not trying to be accusatory I’m just encouraging people to go about thinking about stuff like this in another way.

my problem with this is that stealing merchandise from target also doesn't mention/portray/drive a reform or have a direct correlation to the fact that a policeman murdered a man. it's very self-serving, and seemingly not much beyond that, while also causing home viewers to shake their head & minimalizing (if even by a little) the overarching positive statement.

I’m not accusing anyone of racism I’m just encouraging people to be more conscious when it comes to the way they react and think about things like this. I’m saying I don’t think theft is the issue here...Slyk said himself he’d rather someone torch a store than steal lol

I agree with you about performative woke social media bs, that s--- irks me to no end.

As I said in another post: how do you get people’s attention in a country where the powers that be have shown they care more about money than about people? Do stuff that costs them money. The vast majority of people aren’t going out with the sole selfish intent of stealing s--- for themselves.

I mean I think it’s pretty cynical to assume the majority of people are going out and using the death of an innocent man as an excuse to loot. I think the majority of people are angry and caught in the moment.

Of course I’d rather see it be focused on police stations and such. I feel for small businesses and it’s definitely not fair—but neither is the death of George Floyd.
