    they should have to get a degree. I hate that most jobs you need a degree for, mine for instance has nothing to do with what I actually do, but I wouldn't have had a career without one. But for cops they should have mandatory degrees. That doesn't fix the problem though. Some people educated or not are just pieces of s---. Even with the strictest training you'll have assholes. Plus no one wants to be a cop now. They get paid s--- and everyone treats them like s---. You have to be dumb or really want that 20 year pension to put up with s--- just to retire early

    The police academy in my county isn’t too far from where I live, and the only learning I see them doing is just non-stop running lol. It’s funny though because actual police in normal neighborhoods are just fat old white guys.

    like, aren’t there certain ideas like quotas in place? That’s just nonsense.

    Also, let’s just face it. Most suburban white kids in America are subconsciously raised to have a little racist biased. Like elders locking the car doors in “bad” neighborhoods for example. If most white guys are brought up with this fear, why do we place them in black neighborhoods to police? They are on edge the whole time. Of course something bad is likely to happen.

    idk. I don’t have any answers on how to fix the problems, and I don’t pretend to, but yea it’s just awful.

    but you’re right, most jobs you need a degree to even have any shot of getting your foot in the door in a given field. And these guys just walk into these police roles after all else fails for them job wise.

    Yeah that's funny about the training. A guy who goes to my gym is a captain for a fire department near me. He's in great shape, but he said once you pass that physical test you never have to do it ever again. So you could be 20 and ripped and boom 30 years later you're a fat piece of s--- going into fires in charge of others lives. f----- up. Guessing similar for cops

    I live near Newark which is mostly black and because of the stigma of police, not too many black people want to be cops. So they have to throw who ever is available there.
