    the people who want extra funding funneled to the police for any reason and the abolitionists that biden is going to get credit for appeasing with this are completely different groups. he very well might win without bringing that latter group on board, but let's be honest about what this is and what this isn't.

    im curious if u sense any tension in conflating the title reserved for harriet tubman and frederick douglass to reply guys w cheeto stains on their couch. like expelling the nation's original sin - though related - is on a separate plane than a sometimes academic/rhetorical debate over 911 dispatchers. why not just label urself a "Hero" ?

    i think its an attempt to fund meaningful reform. is it perfect or the final word on this? perhaps not. but u were bleating to me the other day over text about what biden should say on this. now he has. let me guess: not good enough? heh

    it's honestly jmg-level nonsense to characterize police abolitionists this way –– these are movements being led by black organizers and activists in major cities whose argument centers on the inextricability of american policing from chattel slavery etc. use of the term is deliberate.

    and yes what biden said is the literal opposite of what many people would want a democratic nominee to say, but what could we expect

    clearly not true lol - you and your reply guys dont speak for the party. how do i know? literally every vote + poll from the last six months lol. anyway biden wrote

    im not talking about the movements black leaders? im talking about reply guys dude - focus on my actual argument. pasty white dudes (or affluent white chicks etc) hiding behind a keyboard, cloaking themselves in that term is highly suspect. clearly youre too insulated to see that.... i was just curious.

    edit - and again, its a nifty term but man.... liberating people from the evils of slavery isnt the same thing as demilitarizing, defunding, or whatever. theres a moral argument to be made sure but this is a public safety policy discussion fundamentally. idk
