    I also feel like Rap is totally separate from other genres in terms of writing rules. Rap is celebrated (or at least was originally) for lyrics and battling. Pop stars, rock stars, etc can all have writers for the artist and it's not really looked at as a bad thing, but with Rap you have to write your own music.
