lmao if anything you were the one being elitist on me "misinterpreting" the term waifu. I mean 90 percent of animu/manga is moeblob garbage with zero substance processed through a mcdonalds factory of sweatshop workers meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator, but that applies to everything i.e. books, movies, tv, whatever (see Sturgeon's law https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturgeon's_law). Miyazaki is right though animu is in a creative slump where it isn't what it used to be, but I found the over the top muscleman animu of the 80s to be lackluster as well. Still most great series were from that time LW&C, Berserk, Nausicaa, Akira, Devilman (70s), Dragonball. Really it's no contest also most animu/manga at the time didn't look terribly derivative of one another with putrid bug eyes and and girls who all looked the same with different hair colors and degrees of eye openings. Though you may want to read Negima if that's your thing mate.

Come on mate, I think we can work something out. I mean if you disagree why? Do you think any of the series I used as an example are bad? lol, I don't think I've seen one anime the past ten years that can stand up to Monster, Legend of the galactic heroes, 20th CB, Nausicaa (manga), Akira (manga), Berserk (manga) except MAYBE Madoka and Wandering Son.
