Sep 18, 2015 I don't respect you on this topic because, like Fantano, were able to point out blatant cognitive dissonance re: the way you process this content. And you never embrace it. That's on you. When you finally realize (and acknowledge) where you lack, you'll grow immensely as a critic. I'm just waiting for u to get there U got potential kid Step one, stop labeling disagreements as "differences in opinion." That helps no one. Process what the other person said and try to understand and accept/rebut it. Everything everyone says has merit. But obviously, when someone is as wrong as Fantano, it's easy to point out area where he falters and that's be next step -- outlining where and WHY someone is wrong. I do all of this, even if during I come off as too abrasive for you. You dance around a lot of this.

Stop trying to defend him for no reason. I understand MTY doing this because he knows a lot about Fantano, but ur defense of him is misinformed and pointless lol
Sep 18, 2015 i'm not trying to defend anyone. i don't value fantano's opinion anymore than i do anyone else's. i just think he does a good job of presenting himself. i just don't understand why you guys make it seem like there's a right or wrong when it comes to how good music is. THERE'S NOT. it's subjective. all you can do is hold opinions on what you think is good and what's not. you can't prove any of it. so listen to it 4445454 times, have albert einstein look it lolol, and at the end of the day its still gonna be an opinion

If you say the sky is f---ing green and its blue, YOURE WRONG and we'd question if u were color blind If you say an album with a range of topics and emotional arcs is one-note, YOURE WRONG and you'll get called a bad critic. It's THAT simple. Also stop the f---ing "just opinions" s---. No one cares. That's has NOTHING to do with the discussion at hand. That can be your mantra if you want, but it has no role in a discussion about how off base Fabtano is when it comes to rap music

Sep 19, 2015 i like WPG as a rap critic as well, but not any more than fantano. i see them as equally good critics. the reason i enjoy their reviews is because they both articulate themselves well, which is probably why they both have lots of ppl who anticipate/follow their reviews. WPG doesn't like fantano, but i have no clue why. in the barter 6 fantano review thread........all WPG said was that "fantano is a joke" but he didn't give any reasons why
Sep 19, 2015 its b/c what ive been saying to you this whole time. he's noticeably off base about factual s---. like when he reviewed DS2 and didnt get the point of the central track...and used it as reasoning for why the albums 1 dimensional. s--- like that. just being articulate doesnt make you insightful or intelligent lol. fantano's hella articulate. good for him. he can make 20 minute videos about complete bs very well.
Sep 19, 2015 That's unfair. Fantano is very clearly in the know when it comes to certain genres. Hip-hop is not one of them. As as a resource for discovering new music, he's the best on YT to my knowledge.
