The job hunt sucks, spent several months doing it and felt like a deadbeat. But if the job is killing your spirit to the point where you don't want to wake up anymore, you just gotta quit. Grind out one, maybe two more weeks where you work every day to run your paycheck up and dip.

I can promise you it is harder to get a job if you do not have one. When a resume crosses my desk and they are not currently employed, I immediately assume they are a worthless employee who had issues with their previous employer.

The only good advice itt was give your 2 weeks notice. Swallow your pride and do it. If you do not, it is the same as being fired, and it will be MUCH more difficult to receive unemployement.

If you show up to an interview without a job, you are going to be looked at as a quitter who does not like to work hard. Nobody wants to hire a guy who is going to quit as soon as the going get tough. Employers are looking for long term solutions.

I never quit a job until I have another job lined up. And I always give a two week notice. Been at my current job over six years now though.

This exactly. And even once you start a new job it usually takes two weeks or so to get your first paycheck.

I did this back in May. Long story short I hurt my back pretty seriously about 7 years ago. Had to change careers to something I thought I could handle better. I took up Culinary with the end goal of helping my best friend with catering. So for 4 years I worked in a kitchen learning all I could, actually did very well for myself, was in constant pain, but it was bearable.

So come January something happened and my back became worse. I would be 10 minutes into my shift and I couldn't bend, couldn't lift anything off the ground, literally just no power. So I told my work I need to go part time while I figured it out.

From January until the beginning of March I worked 2-3 days a week max, but still ended up getting 30-35 hours. By the beginning of March I was just tired of being in so much pain and literally looking at the clock and wondering how I would get through the next 10-12 hours with no break and being relied on to way too much work, especially physically for my back.

So I gave them my two weeks, no real clue of what to do after, just wanted time off too heal. They ended up asking me to stay much later, I worked another ,month and a bit until Mother's Day, as they relied on me way too much and needed time to find and train someone crazy enough to put up with the s--- I did.

So here I am, 3 months later, in no better shape and through various government programs, no one can find me work suitable for myself, doesn't help all my previous work experience is physical work (used to be a Tool and Die maker). I'm literally taking a kitchen job tomorrow just so I can pay my bills as I'm watching my bank account deplete.

So as long as you're not killing yourself over your job, you should hang onto it and look for something else. As stressful as your job may be, just imagine how stressful it'll be if you can't pay the bills because nothing better came up. Also don't burn bridges, you'd be surprised how things can come full circle.
