I knew the second I saw Kendrick featured heavily on this album that Arch Dogg wouldn't like it. #vintageArchDogg

The thing is, we started taking @Arch Dogg not as serious anymore and started joking around with him and now we gassed him up and he turned his s--- opinions into a little gimmick like "haha look how awful my opinion is"

This is why no one takes your opinions seriously. What does your age have to do with anything? I see you time & time again let your age effect your music opinions & I really don't understand why. Is this album being overrated? Yes, like most highly anticipated releases are right after they are released. There's literally nothing atrocious about this album at all & your criticism doesn't match that conclusion.

What it sounds like to me is that you were expecting way to much & something similar to The Chronic or 2001, didn't get what you wanted & are now upset by it. Just because an artist doesn't go the direction you wanted them to go, doesn't make the music bad.

Naw I just don't like this album. I'm shocked tbh. Always thought Dre was a sure thing.

Just to be clear, one of your biggest problems with Compton was it sounding different than his previous two albums?

I also find it funny how Arch Dogg trashed the entire album but took time to make Eminem's feature an exception lol

I'm saying people tend to like what they grew up listening to. People that were in high school 15 years ago are definitely gonna have different taste in rap than people that age now. And yes I was expecting this album to be some epic s---. Like all of the Detox production that was given away over the years (Imagine, Topless, Don't Get Carried Away, etc). Instead we basically got Dre's take on "modern" rap. It sounds like a Kendrick album to me, especially production wise.

Eminem's verse is one of the lone bright spots on here. That's what I imagined a Detox feature sounding like. I Need A Doctor is still a MUCH better song than Medicine Man though. INAD and Kush are both better than any song on here.

Anyone can have their own opinion it's just gotta be reasonably close to everyone else's or else it's s---. Lol dude said he thought the album s----d big deal people really make it seem as if unpopular opinions on this forum really upset them. I can literally see a good amount of people in this thread possibly losing sleep because they don't understand why arch doesn't like the almighty album that is Compton.

But what difference does it make? You shouldn't refrain from a certain "taste" just because you didn't grow up listening to it. I was born in 96' & I love hip hop albums that came out before I was even born. You shouldn't let your age limit you to what type of hip hop music you like yet I see you do that time & time again.

You're confusing me now because in your OP you stated you disliked the album primarily because its traits differed from the Chronic & 2001 but now you're saying you imagined Detox sounding like the Em feature on here which has no type of The Chronic or 2001 vibe.

Exactly. But if I said the latest Eminem album s----d I'd be the coolest kid on here. It's Like follow the trend or else.

It's not just his opinions but his reasoning, it's baseless. This is coming from someone that's not even as high on this album as others are. I think this album is really good but no way is it a classic. I wouldn't even call it a great album.

Good point. Maybe I need to start broadening my horizons of what I listen to. And I know his verse definitely isn't Chronic/2001 vibe but it's at the quality level I imagined for Detox.
