One person has been killed and three others injured after another shooting on a US university campus.
A gunman opened fire at northern Arizona University's Flagstaff campus this morning.
The shooting happened in a dormitory housing students involved in Greek organisations.
As reported by ABC News, it is not yet known what sparked the shooting.

The gunman is currently in police custody.
Students were warned to stay indoor during the shooting through an emergency alert sent by the university.
The identities of the injured and the person who died are not yet known.
The shooting comes after nine people were killed last week at Umpqua Community College.

It again sparked a huge debate about US gun laws and whether there should be tighter controls
Writing on its Facebook page, Northern Arizona University said: "Four people were shot at the Northern Arizona University campus in Flagstaff, AZ, early Friday.
"According to the Northern Arizona University Police Department, the four victims included one dead, and three wounded. The shooter is in custody. Campus is not lockdown.
"The three victims are being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center.
"The incident took place outside Mountain View Hall on the northeast end of the Flagstaff Campus. The first call of shots fired came in at 1:20 a.m."

A shooting that only killed one person? I wouldn't even call that a shooting I'd just call that a murder.

this sounds like a personal issue to me. I don't think the dude. Had intentions to k--- any one he saw. Maybe he was just pissed or something? Good thing he is locked up though and didn't pull the gun on himself so hopefully they can find out what he was thinking

Seriously, we are living in a world where people are becoming so desensitised to all of this that its just looked at as a normal day, which i think its completely wrong.

You think this is bad? Back in the days a regular day was your whole village getting crucified

I dunno why people think the world is in its worst state ever or something. It's actually the best it's ever been in terms of violence

I know the world hasnt got worse, we just see more of the world due to multimedia, but due to the media we are desensitised to the whole thing.

As sad as it sounds, we should just have one giant "U.S. shooting thread" at this point.

Its not even that. The world is a safe place for the most part. The number of school shootings that happen in America is f---ing ridiculous for a civilised nation.

Above all we need MENTAL HEALTH REFORM. More Gun Control wont do jack s---. Have yall looked at the personality traits and background of every major school shooter since Columbine? There is a clear pattern. The Mental Health system in America is pathetic.

I'm still confused as to why we even need guns in the first place, I mean is there a war going on that I don't know about ??

Psycological and mental evaluations is what's needed. You must pass them to be able to get a gun license. And those who have licenses should also go through this process every year or something. Maybe even a requirement to attend shooting ranges X number of times per year to weed out the non-legitimate enthusiasts who just want a gun

I don't know sustainable these ideas are but most mass shooters share similar psychological traits. Withdrawn, depression, loners etc etc there must be ways to screen people and pick up these people
