Jan 31, 2015 I mean, yeah, but looking at the song in segments is a pretty narrow way of going about things.
Jan 31, 2015 Royce's verse was about his friends always wanting to borrow money from him. Eminem's verse was about his music being leaked.
Jan 31, 2015 Generally the lyrics of every song from Yeezus is trash tbh but I can understand that the production for a lot people hold the album for his own. Not my case
Jan 31, 2015 Anyways point is, whether or not you like Yeezus, its acclaim is undeniable. Back to the topic, Kanye wins for me. Drake is close too though.
Jan 31, 2015 Gotta be Drake The amount of "s---" songs on his big 3 albums you can count on 1 hand Kanye, Pac too
Jan 31, 2015 Kanye off the top of my head, I hated Yeezus but I can understand why some people enjoy it...I concur with a lot of you that Drake has had very accessible music. They made some stuff that was below their usual standard every once in awhile but The Roots have a very strong set of timeless music.
Jan 31, 2015 J. Cole not one genuinely BAD song yes thats right even Disgusting and Heavy can't be classified as "bad"
Jan 31, 2015 Anyone still bitching about the lyrics on Yeezus is missing the point of the album entirely. Are there some shoddy lyrics on Yeezus? Yes, but Yeezus is more about its mood (how energy builds and releases constantly throughout) and overall aesthetic (somehow being simultaneously disjointed and cohesive) than pure lyricism. Regardless, its good writing outweighs the bad IMO.
Jan 31, 2015 lol now this is stanism my n-----...thats like saying anyone who doesn't like Relapse is missing the point of the album entirely. Are there some shoddy lyrics on relapse? Yes but Relapse is about its mood than pure lyricism. Lol bs. Yeezus was a decent album I like it. Blood on the Leaves is amazing but your reasoning is Myril like
Jan 31, 2015 Not really an apt comparison because Relapse genuinely WAS supposed to be about its "lyricism," but I understand where you're coming from. I never said that anyone who doesn't like Yeezus is missing the point (clearly I can see why it isn't for everyone), just that a lot of people who criticize it tend to focus on the pockets of bad lyrics and nothing else.
