I aplogize for the bump, but I finally decided to give this a listen, and I'm very impressed so far. There's no words to describe how phenomenal the production is.

I can't believe how many envelopes and patterns and instruments you use. I'm only able to use up to 8 if I'm lucky but you have the whole board covered.

as far as the envelopes and everything goes, did you see the one for my love lockdown remix haha?

but really, it's just become a thing overtime. the longer i've been a producer, the more stripped down sounding it's all become, but at the same time, it's also chaotic in this sort of beautiful way I guess and it's become more complex behind the scenes? it's an odd combination, especially being usually so downtempo for edm.

and stuff like the envelopes and patterns and everything become easier and easier for me overtime, and I get... well, less full of excuses for why something shouldn't/couldn't be done in one of my songs if I feel it, as soon as you stop making excuses for why _____ doesn't really need this extra EQ or fade in or chopped up pattern or whatever it is, and actually just put more time into it and let it happen (and also get to know more of the tricks with FL like hotkeys and certain features), it all comes together so so easily.

but never force it, tho i wanna stress don't take the easy way out either. if you feel like you can give a song or twelve 9 freaking months to breathe and grow and to comb over it hundreds of times like i did or if it even means scrapping songs you worked on for a month or two and they don't end up fitting or if you feel like for the track to be the best it can be you have to completely redo giant chunks of it, DO IT. Don't ever not do it for the love of god. The more time you put into it this all just becomes ridiculously easier and seems like childsplay. You never stop improving this way either.

i've become more and more of a believer in all this with my music as time has gone on... so even though it looks ridiculous af in my screenshots, it's nothing to me now to do that. It's generally not until I sit back and look at it after like "what in the literal f--- is all of this and did i seriously do all of that?" that I realize how hard it all actually was but it just doesn't faze you

like... most of my songs now average 50ish patterns I think (which none of this is probably s--- to an actual big name edm producer)? my automation clips probably come in close to a hundred at times, depending on the song...

and with stuff like interludes? jfc, the more and more i've given to those the harder and harder it's been because I feel like I'm building movie scenes having to find sound effects and samples and mix/eq it all together to sound like a living breathing story unfolding around you while additionally scoring the soundtrack and tieing it together with the albums songs... it's gotten to be so much like that on this album, that all of the interludes have multiple FLPs to their names from where i'd take them and reworked them again and again and add effects and then re-export it all to change it up in another FLP that has even more effects and chops stuff up and includes other bits, and then sometimes another FLP to tie it into a track seemlessly with more effects and EQs and jesus f---ing christ that was honestly the most annoying thing in the world to do sometimes... but that's the only bit of this that actually sometimes REALLY feels hard

anyways sorry for rambling and repeating myself, i just kind of unloaded a lot of s--- about the process with all of this, but i really mean it all
