Jan 26, 2015 In the suv with my parents but with my own private headphone jack for the radio and tiny remote to control with. Used to bump mad explicit songs on there. Thanks kiss fm
Jan 26, 2015 This is a fantastic article by the way. Encore had very low lows, but it's great moments were truly great. It was the final glimpses of Eminem in his prime. I'm still not ready to say Encore is better than Recovery yet, but it's firmly ahead of Relapse and MMLP2. It's not the rock bottom of his career that we always thought it was.
Jan 26, 2015 Wow great read!! I think its safe to say give em decent subject matter to rap about and we'll be in for a treat.. I just think he's ran out of stuff to say so it all sounds forced. Sad to realize that but its true.
Jan 26, 2015 I still listen to encore from time to time. Would rather listen to it than any of his albums after that
Jan 26, 2015 Totally agree. I've always thought he ran out of things to talk about around the time of D12 World and Encore. Then when Relapse came he REALLY had nothing left to talk about. Which is why most of that album's content was fictional serial killer stories. Recovery brought a return to some meaningful content, which is probably why I enjoyed that album so much.
Jan 26, 2015 Yep totally agree about recovery. It had its flaws but at least it was some semi fresh material.
Jan 26, 2015 I didn't really take it as an attempt to rewrite history, but I see how you could read it that way, considering the headline. Even though it's clear all the s--- songs came from popping pills/not giving a f--- about the album and not an actual attempt at satire, I thought it was an interesting take. The article doesn't really praise the album so much as point out parallels/contradictions.
Jan 26, 2015 I DO think the video makes it clear that Just Lose It was an intentional (though clumsy and plain bad) attempt to satirize pop music through a pop song
Jan 26, 2015 from what i know, the ghost of eminem's childhood which was destroyed due to his early CIA experimentation wiping out most of his early memories had manifested itself on encore
Jan 26, 2015 I remember being kinda shocked when Just Lose It came out cuz I think it was honestly the first time I ever heard a bad Eminem song. But I wrote it off like "oh well, his first singles are always pop/joke songs" but then Mosh came out right around election time and was very underwhelming. Then the rest of the album leaked...
Jan 27, 2015 I remember all the conspiracy theories that it was a fake album that Eminem leaked to keep the real thing safe
Jan 27, 2015 Read a thread on Slumz about it and remember hearing that the "real" track list was scrapped but the songs exist. Like Honor ft. Nate Dogg
Jan 27, 2015 Yea I remember that on Rap Basement. The album leaked really early, like 3 weeks before release, and everybody was saying Em intentionally leaked a fake/bad version of the album onto the internet as payback to fans for the Straight From The Lab leaks. Lol. I remember hoping it was true and a better version of the album was coming but yea, that never happened.
Jan 27, 2015 ^ I heard in several interviews that he doesn't really care just as long as people hears it, he is cool with it.
Jan 27, 2015 my heart skipped a beat when I realized I was the first person to hear the lose yourself demo. it almost felt like he was speaking directly to me. it was incredible. and I wanted.. needed to share it. I am sure koolo catches the same feels. if that's not what he wants his music to do he can feel free to hate me
