but yeah, jokes aside the beat was very overbearing and with my minimal knowledge of mixing I was trying not to make the final track sound too abrasive. So lowered the gain on the vocals, which were peaking or whatever.

it could be louder tho for sure

You should look at some mixing tutorials on youtube. Beat should leave some room for your vocals too. Can see this beat being hard to mix with the vocals though

yeah thats the problem with this reddit weekly cyphers lol...we'll there's a lot of problems...s-----y themes (this week was "betrayal"), weird beats (sometimes fire ones), length restrictions, etc

i only do em because i like to record regularly lol
