That’s not what I said though. I said a lot of people simply don’t understand them, therefore can’t appreciate them. I’m not implying they’re too stupid to understand them—although obviously some are lol—but rather that they’ll trash bars without actually understanding what the meaning behind them is.

You’re not stupid if a bar goes over your head the first few times. I sometimes only catch bars years later and that’s what makes layered writing so great...to me anyway.

Maybe they should use that smartphone to look on Rap Genius—and that’s part of the aforementioned detriment itself if you have to look up lyrics and meanings on Rap Genius, rather than understand them instantly. Some people don’t like doing that, understandably, so that’s where writing at a high level has some downsides.

Lol at the people who spend 24/7 in here worshipping Eminem and cannot handle it when someone gives a negative opinion of him.
Em’s first 3 albums were masterpieces and they are just as good 20 years later.
For whatever reason Em decided to change his style and wordplay for Encore and it’s still to this day the most disappointing rap album of all time.
All the hype from TES, him signing 50 Cent and help co produce GRODT and then he released the dog s--- that was Encore.
God knows why Paul and Dre allowed Em to release it.
Like seriously you listen to k--- you and then Just Lose It and the difference is actually laughable!

There are people here who base their whole internet persona on the fact they hate everything eminem put out in the last 10 years.

When something I used to enjoy is no longer at the level of quality I expect, I simply stop following it and that's it. You don't see me spending time at south park forums bitching about how the last 4 seasons are s---.

But it's easy to see that openly bashing eminem and making fun of anyone who enjoy his music is seen as a power move on their part, they are seen as cool in front of the big boys.
