Jun 26, 2015 but it rly doesnt lol what f---ing potential did mathew reach? ... i know what Em was going for, but its rly rly bad
Jun 26, 2015 Throughout the whole song Mathew is clearly mentally and emotionally unstable. He even says, "Well I've never recovered". Its quite possible that there's other troubling stuff going on in Mathew's life that the listener isn't made aware of. "My life is garbage and I'm about to take it out on you". Like I said in one of my prior posts, maybe the dude was going nowhere in life and he just snapped. Said, "f--- it, I'm gonna end it". Yeah he does say he's seeking revenge but that could just be an excuse for his self destructive actions which are also leading him to his own death. Rather than tell himself he gave up, he'd rather think he's going out avenging his brother.
Jun 26, 2015 the line was Em trying to sound smart and say he reached his full potential ... only it was Mathew rapping...stop over analyzing it...its a s--- line
Jun 26, 2015 that extra verse? it sucks the "i peaked" line is great. you guys are bitching about linearity in a decade-late sequel to a song about a crazed fan whose brother killed himself over eminem? i mean, okay.
Jun 26, 2015 how it is great, it makes no sense....explain to me how did Mathew peak? its obvious listening to the 4th verse Em was talking from his perspective
Jun 26, 2015 ...yeah. exactly. it's one of the only moments of actual self-awareness on an album that was supposed to be full of them. have you ever heard "n----s bleed"? "bad guy" obviously isn't in the same stratosphere as far as quality goes, but there's nothing wrong with switching perspectives during a verse. seriously, you guys, if i'm defending eminem, i'm probably on to something.
Jun 26, 2015 so we in agreement he did switch perspectives? yea thats bad, dont care what anyone say...i need continuity
Jun 26, 2015 switching perspectives doesn't mean the verse lacks continuity. it happens in songs/movies/books all the time.
Jun 26, 2015 how so? did mathew think he is Eminem for that pure second? thats the only excuse for keeping the continuity going
