superdelegates should not be taken into account because they sway people's opinion and vote

Exactly why I dislike super delegates, also it's misleading when people claim Hillary is ahead by around 600, when really it's around 200 if you don't count super delegates

I've never heard someone say they're voting for a particular candidate because X super delegate(s) is/are voting for them.

I think they mean that since the media is showing the delegate count including the superdelegates. people who may not understand the process assume that Hillary is up by so much so they figure there is no point in voting for Bernie since he is so behind

She is, no denying that but you also have to take into consideration that Bernie has won many caucuses which he doesn't come away with many votes compared to states she has won that have normal voting. No excuses though, she is still winning.

That's a problem within itself. How can you participate in a political process you don't understand? That's on the individual for not educating themselves (which they literally can do with a quick google/YouTube search). The media is simply reporting the facts. It's not like super delegates don't exist. Reporting numbers without super delegates would be more dishonest of the media if you ask me.

it has nothing to do with who they're voting for, it's the misrepresented delegate counts. when you see a candidate with 1700 delegates and the other with 1100 when the threshold is 2300, you're less encouraged to vote for the candidate with 110 because u figure it's over anyway. very few media sources show the correct media count or have it as a footnote. superdelegates have not voted, their votes should not be reported

People who are discouraged to vote because of delegate numbers they see on TV likely aren't active in politics regardless. I don't think this is some incredible issue and you'd have a hard time arguing that if the media didn't count super delegates during their air times that it would have some huge effect on the outcome of the race. That just sounds like a really nitpicky argument.

What's not guaranteed is which way the superdelegates will choose to vote. That's what makes it manipulative to automatically project that they'll all (or even mostly) vote for her. A lot of that depends on what happens now.

It's wishful thinking to suggest Clinton won't win most the super delegates. It's not gaurenteed, you're right but we're not robots here. We all have the ability to critically think and based on what we've seen in this election and previous elections, it's clear that Clinton has the backing of the democratic establishment thus getting a vast majority of the super delegate votes.

Sanders is the one desperate for black voters. All of his supporters look like Pitchfork employees.
