I understand the point of the song but he sounds like a whining 5 year old the way he delivers the first two verses. Trying to keep the point of the song a secret in the first two verses probably helped make them as bad as they are. He should have just got Dido on the chorus and wrote them normally.
Mar 25, 2015 actually when Em thought of making Bad Guy he didn't want any female vocal on it. But S1 made the beat of part 1 and the beat has Sarah Jaffe vocal so Em had to accept it.
Mar 25, 2015 That post proves my point though, Keeping it a secret undoubtedly made the chorus worse. Besides the chorus the first two verses are just s--- and imo that's partly because it was written differently so it was kept a secret. He should have done those verses the same he did Stan like one maybe Matthew writing to him and the second him doing a voice recording while driving to Marshall's house.
