I think I just got distracted with something. I usually turn a movie off if I'm not giving it my full attention. Like I said, I loved Rear Window. Rope was great for basically being a play on film. Wasn't too big on Strangers on a Train tbh.

    My favorites:

    50s: High Noon
    60s: Cool Hand Luke
    70s: Jaws
    80s: Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    00s: Before Sunset

I always draw a blank when it comes to the 90s. I don't have a definitive favorite for it. The Truman Show, Dazed And Confused, Gattaca, Exotica, and quite a few others. But I can't really choose one.

As for the 2010s, most of the movies released this decade are too fresh in my mind to have a definitive favorite. But so far, it's between Before Midnight, Boyhood, The Social Network, and Mad Max: Fury Road.

I will play along as well... (although this is mostly my favorite, not the "best" -- I definitely haven't seen enough to make an accurate call on that... this is essentially a list of arbitrary films I selected to look smart)

20s- The Gold Rush (alt. Metropolis)
30s- Duck Soup (alt. Bride of Frankenstein... edit, or Angels With Dirty Faces)
40s- The Treasure of Sierra Madre (alt. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde)
1950s- Night of the Hunter (alt. All About Eve)
1960s- The Hustler (alt. Reflections in a Golden Eye)
1970s- The Conversation (alt. The Baby... edit, or Nashville)
    1980s- L'Argent (alt. The Thing)
1990s- Pulp Fiction (alt. Being John Malkovich)
2000s- There Will Be Blood (alt. Far from Heaven)
2010s- The Social Network (alt. The Master)

Lol i love that your movie of the 80s is the Simpsons parody of The Shining. Typos aside, you f---in nailed it. Kubrick pretty much dominated every decade he ever released a film in.

I'd give the 2010s to Enter The Void though, I mean how could anyone beat it?

The hard core fans won't agree but I consider Hugo to be Martin Scorsese's best film.

Good lists from certain members so far.
