Apr 8, 2015 I enjoyed the first season in its entirety, but I do have to agree with @captain awesome to some extent. Especially regarding the finale being just okay. It had some great moments, but I definitely felt like it was one of the weaker episodes of the season. Still, I think it has a lot of potential, especially since it's going to surpass the events in BB eventually. Def not better than the first season of Breaking Bad lol.
Apr 8, 2015 After 5 great seasons of BB, and one good season of BCS, they have earned it. And lmao @ acting like im wrong when that's exactly what the show was doing that scene to emphasizes his mini panic attack. Same thing they did with the breadsticks bit in ep2 Smfh Sorry I can pick up more details about the show high than in the snarky, pretentious daze you watch it in
Apr 8, 2015 Word I saw the finale and was like that's it? The scene at the end was corn too. "I know what stopped me and it's never going to stop me again."
Apr 8, 2015 See, you're using words like "snarky" and "pretentious" (guys... lets cool it with that word, ok?) -- but that's not what I'm doing at all. BCS isn't BB -- you can't just "let" the showrunners have a wide leash, that's the definition of uncritical. If something doesn't work, then it doesn't. The show is good, but merely good, and the season finale was underwhelming and a bit of a mess.
Apr 8, 2015 @captain awesome also you complety ignored the parts where I point how you WERENT judging the show for what it was, but rather just stating your broad, sweeping, issues with its premise gr8 argument ya got me
Apr 8, 2015 This is only what I'm doing if you skim through my posts and decide on snacking me in da face rather than actually give my points the time of day I've directly refernced the positives AND negatives of the show much more than you have
Apr 8, 2015 Rather you make your own argument since you're insistant on painting mine as childish or too high to judge the show ( you grandpa you )
Apr 8, 2015 What? I've laid out my argument already lol. Yes, I've labelled some of your responses as childish because you're approaching this show like a fan, which is fine, but it's not exactly a measured response. Yeah, but you're mostly just equivocating/ spewing word vomit. -- edit: classic high narsh cracking his iphone, smh ::black guy emoji::
Apr 8, 2015 You keep saying it again and again, becuase that gives you a reason to disregard what I'm saying, but it'll never make it true lol I've even critiqued the show more than you. Stop trying to make me fit your narrative Let's go back to how commenting on the sound editing is "peddling bs" Should I pull up the scene for you? I know memory starts to get impaired with age, so despite being the pot free Good Samaritan you are, you might just be, you know, being dumb in an attempt to discredit me Im give you the benefit of the doubt though, and assuming you just didn't know what you were saying -- unless you don't want me to! Wouldn't wanna give someone the benefit of the doubt based of their track record without your approval!
Apr 8, 2015 The directing isn't anything phenomenal. While it is sufficient and incorporates cool angling and some nice wide lens shots, it doesn't boast anything different than any other high budget premium cable show. It's still well made but it isn't really worth more discussion than a one off acknowledgment tbh.
Apr 8, 2015 what other "high budget premium cable shows" have you seen montages as nice as the one of marco and jimmy last episode? and there so many consistently beautiful shots in the show. i watch a lot of f---ing tv lol. and if i could think of actual examples to support your claim, id agree with you. but i cant.
Apr 8, 2015 This doesn't convince me in any way. It's not about me giving you "permission" lol -- it's just common sense when it comes to criticism. And why do you keep bringing up me mentioning your well-documented taste for the sticky icky icky. I'm being tongue-in-cheek -- you get that right? Maybe lay off the ganga son - its making you paranoid. Quality > quantity. You're making me feel like @WPG. Please stop.
Apr 8, 2015 You're acting like WPG lol. In the same breath you're criticizing me for not judging the show on it's own merits, ALL you're doing is trying to put it up against BB or put it in context. All of that's valid, but probably better to do so after the fact. After the show is off air. Right now, ALL my posts in this thread, are about specific positive and negative attributes about this show. You're the one blowing hot air to try and seem "critical." How verbose, or how many words I "vomit" out, has nothing to do with the quality of the points being made. also, are we going to ignore how I was just off handedly bringing up the sound editing in the bingo scene as something I liked, only to have you frame it as me "peddling bs?" Not only is it not, it's actually a valid component of that scene If we're gonna ignore it though, that's cool, just wanted to confirm
Apr 8, 2015 i haven't seen the bingo scene in question but if a scene is bad/too long sound design certainly isn't going to save it lol
Apr 8, 2015 Nah, you're word vomiting essays and using emojis as if that's a real argument lol. I can see why Paul gets frustrated -- you misconstrue things and write these rambling, defensive posts. Good example is the way the both of us are invoking BB. To you, the existence of that show means the showrunners should be pardoned for sloppy storytelling. Again, we both like the show, but to me you're just approaching it as an enthusiastic fan. You can talk about the "sound editing" of bingo balls like that gives you critical cover ("see! I'm noting the show's technical elements!") but in the end, if you can't reconcile the larger problems in a constructive, thoughtful way, then whatever. now write me a 1,000 word apology. you've hurt me.
